Q: How to make a Toyota echo into a parody "street racer" cheap?
I want to insult every idiot out there with a Japanese "hot rod" with under-glow, fart cans and so on. I intend to do this by creating a parody using a two door 2002 Toyota Echo and I need ideas that are cheap and easy. They don't have to function and the more ridiculous the better.

A: What about the 1000's and 1000's of japanese tuner owners whom have no under glow neons, and exhaust mufflers are rigged up to advanced exhaust setups. It maybe time to loose this sterotype of all japanese car owners after all my local club is a mix of American Muscle and Japanese Tuner cars and we all get along great. Also Japanese and American bike owners are in the club also. In Japan an American drift team was drifting in there Mustangs whilst the Japanese crowd stood up to appluade them. You should feel you should be going for the mass of modders out there if you feel this way whom mod cars badly and not just Japanese cars but a mass of American and German cars also. Performance wise there are a mass of Japanese cars out there running high bhp figures, many have detuned engines this is only down to rules until January 2005 which restricted the power but the power is the power is there and often easy to release. After all a Nissan 300zx holds speed record. The JUN-BLITZ Bonneville Z32 holds the E/BMS class land speed record of 419.84 km/h (260.87 mph) set at the 1995 Bonneville Speed Trial. The vehicle was built as a partnership between JUN Auto and BLITZ. This record remains unbroken. In 1990 JUN's first Z32 went 339.2 km/h at their Yatabe test course and hit 373 km/h after some tuning at Bonneville http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_300ZX http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSTNc1Vo5Qc R32 skyline record drag run.

Q: How much can I sell my 2005 Toyota Echo for?
I have a 2005 Toyota Echo, with no problems. It is well maintained with no body damage. The only downside is it has fairly high mileage due to two lengthy road trips. 123k and some change. Does anyone know what's a reasonable asking price for this vehicle? I am selling it out of Vancouver, BC. Thanks.

A: they Go for $ 7000 - $ 8500 up to $7000 if it is 2dr hatchback with air up to $ 8500 if it 4 sedan automatic with air according to the autotrader.ca you can ask around the $ 7000 if you need to get rid of it .

Q: What kind of gas does a 2001 Toyota Echo need?
What kind of gas does a 2001 Toyota Echo need? Are there options, and what do the different options do? I just bought it and it has 78k miles on it--I'd like to take good care of it, and I'm hoping regular will do that.

A: Regular is fine

Q: What oil should I use for my 2000 Toyota Echo?
I have a coupon for $10 off oil change, I can choose either full synthetic, semi-synthetic, or basic. Does it really matter, and which should I use for my toyota echo?

A: Synthetic oil is NOT for you. Paying extra for fancy oil for a 10 year old car is a waste of money. Take the basic, and change it often (every 5000k or 3000miles). Cars such as yours will run just fine on regular dyno oil. If you were driving a Ferrari, things might be different.

Q: Can anyone help installing new car stereo in a Toyota Echo?
I'm having a hard time figuring out which stock wire connects to the new stereo wire. If anyone has a Toyota echo if you could let me know the colour of the two power wires and which one is the ground wire? I have the speakers figured out (I think) now I'm just trying to get the power on. Thanks Thats a nice idea, but the old factory connectors are already gone. the place that installed my last deck took the connectors out, and I've tried hooking each wire to where the last one was and its not working so its missing something.

A: Get a wiring adapter for your new stereo at the retail store that installs stereo's, this way you don't have to figure which wire goes to what. It'll just plug right up to the factory system and the wires are labled so you don't have to figure what wires connect to your new system.

Q: is it possible to stuff a mitsubishi lancer evolution IIX 's engine and differentials in a toyota echo ?
i have a 2003 toyota echo , and a wrecked mitsubishi lancer evo , all engine parts and differentials have been restored , is it possible to convert the toyota to a 4 wheel drive 290 hp "economy car" ?

A: Depends on how much you have in the engine bay of the echo I would assume. You know how much work that would be?

Q: is it possible to change a toyota echo (car) from a manual to an automatic?
i was interested in buying a toyota echo but the one i like is a manual, which i cant drive. i was wondering if its possible to change it to an automatic. and if so around how much would it cost!

A: It is possible, but it's definitely not worth it. It would involve changing the gearbox and flywheel to torque converter and all related linkages, and I believe the Echo has a computer controlled box, which means a new engine control unit will have to be wired in.

Q: Need details of a toyota echo with a cruise control option?
It it possible to fit a cruise control in a A/T Toyota echo 2005 model? Does anyone have any pics (Dash board, Steering Column) of a toyota echo with a cruise control option?

A: Yes there are echos with cruise control.

Q: toyota echo?
anyone have one, what are your thoughts? they werent around very long but my mom had one and loved it, thinking about getting one.

A: they get really good gas mileage, close to "hybrid" territory. Although the engine is tiny and barely makes 100hp, it is light so still relatively spirited. Its also the same engine in the scion xA, xB and the new Yaris. The resale value on these is nowhere need other toyotas, so I think that makes them a solid buy on the used car market. The styling is a little awkward. If you can get past that, go for it.

Hi, I've recently bought a Toyota Echo 2001 3 door auto. Need to change the rubber for all three windscreen wipers but, don't know the exact size for the rubber refills and I don't have the owner's manual.. can anyone help me please?

Q: How many more miles can I put on a 2002 Toyota Echo?
I'm interested in buying a 2002 Toyota Echo with 137,000 miles on it. Dealer is asking $3900 for it (think I can haggle them down?) Anyway, how much longer do you think it will last with proper care and maintenance? Thanks :)

A: Toyota engines can last forever if you take care of them. You should look into it as much as you can, but I wouldn't worry too much about the miles. If everything else is fine with it, that would be a good deal for a car that will get you good gas mileage and is reliable. The car I drove until I bought my Echo two years ago was a 1989 Corolla. My brother is still driving it and it's up to 210,000. However, I did get in a rollover accident last year in my Echo (it was totaled) and later found out that Echos have one of the highest rollover percentages besides SUVs which isn't really something that I even looked at.

Q: How do you properly tighten the accessory belt on a Toyota Echo?
The Echo doesn't have a belt tensioner, you simply pivot the alternator to tighten the belt. Any tips on getting it properly tightened? I replaced it yesterday and its slipping more than the belt I just replaced was. It only slips if the A/C is on, I'm partially wondering if the compressor needs to be recharged.

A: they are usually adjusted as a large flat screw driver is used as leverage. It should not flex by hand force, charging the compressor will not help. Some shops have special measuring tools for tightness this is not required. However do no over tighten to wear out aux bearing.
