What does this indicator light on my 1998 Toyota Avalon mean? It's a picture of a car with flashing lights on the rear end?
I've checked all the lights in the rear of the car, even brake lights, and they all seem to be working.
A: Hello,
It means that a tail light or brake light bulb has blown. If lit when the lights are on, that means tail light is blown. If lit when brake pedal is pressed, that means brake light is blown.
Check again, if everything seems to be fine, there might be electrical problem.

A: Yes its safe. You should open and look at the battery so you can go to the store (i.e. Walmart, or Autozone) and get a new battery. If you call the dealer, i am sure they can tell you what kind it takes

I have an aftermarket iPod system (or whatever you call it) installed in my 2006 Toyota Avalon. I was able to play my iPod using the AM/Satellite button. Ever since the car battery was changed, the button only goes to AM and not to satellite and the system no longer recognizes my iPod.
A: Sounds like a computer problem. Take it to the Toyota dealership, they can hook it up to their computer and tell you. It shouldn't cost anything, but some will charge to hook it up, it depends on the dealer.

A: Well, they are both great cars...just way different in categories! The Avalon is beautiful luxury car, powerful, comfortable, rides like a dream! The Corolla is sporty, fun and very nice looking. Of course the fuel mileage would be better with the Corolla. If I had to pick between the two (have drove both many times) I would have to pick an Avalon...I have never been in a nicer riding car than an Avalon!!

A: Most people go with the 3 month 3,000 mile concept although it's not absolutely necessary as the manufacturer suggests about twice that between oil changes. Have a reputable shop go over the car to give an idea of it's true condition. This won't be a guarantee there won't be problems but it's much better than buying "blind".
