Q: Will an exhaust kit from a 1994 Subaru Impreza fit on a 1998 Subaru Legacy GT wagon with the same engine?
Im looking at buying a used exhaust kit from a guy that said its coming from his '94 impreza. It seems my '98 legacy gt wagon has the same engine, I'm wanting to know if these exhaust systems have the same mounts so that I can literally bolt it on. Any subaru experts know?
A: No, for several reasons. The most obvious one is that the cars are built on different platforms (chassis). The Legacy, be it sedan or wagon, is a bigger car than the Impreze (including WRX and STI).
Q: what is the difference between the 2001 subaru impreza rs and the 2001 subaru legacy gt?
Im not interested in anything about the station wagons. just the sedans/coupes. what are the differences of both, what parts go bad on both, basically anything helpful on both cars would be great please post it here thanks
A: For one, the LGT is a mid-size sedan, and the 2.5RS is a compact. Both have a naturally aspirated 2.5L engine, but the 2.5RS is much lighter, so it would be quicker. The RS also has more extroverted styling, though, so if that is a turn-off, be careful.
As for reliability, I couldn't tell you on either, but the guys at NASIOC.com or RS25.com probably have some thorough descriptions on their forums.
Q: Can the Dodge Charger SRT8 go faster than the brand new Mustang GT or Subaru Impreza WRI?
Which one of these cars is the fastest and if they street race which order will they come in? You know what I'll throw in the Dodge SRT4 as well. What order would these four cars come in, in what place would each car come in?
A: It is hard to answer because I dont know what they are goverend at. All cars in america have speed governors on them. So the mustang might be governed at 130mph and the Dodge at 135mph.... For acceleration I would go with the 6.1 liter Dodge Hemi, then the 500HP Mustang.
Q: Which is faster the subaru legacy gt, subaru impreza wrx, or the infiniti g35 coupe(not sports edition)?
A: Are you looking for a drag car? You're talking about sporty family sedans. They'll all go 100 mph; how fast each gets to 100 is a different story. Get the one you enjoy driving.
Q: '95 Subaru Impreza L vs '97 Subaru Legacy GT?
Ok so I am 16 and I am about to get my license. I've stopped by and looked at a '95 Subaru Impreza Coupe AWD 1.8 liter engine automatic. It looked rather old and used but only cost $1,995. It has been serviced by a mechanic however not a Subaru specialist. I didn't get in the car and didn't see how many miles it had on it. If it had like 200,000 would there be any chance that it would last me for at least 2 more years?
I have seen pictures of a '97 Subaru legacy GT automatic with 148,000 miles on it that looks like its in pretty good condition. It cost about $4500. Has been serviced by a Subaru specialist mechanic. with that many miles would it last like 4 more years.
So which one would be a better first car. The Impreza coupe or the Legacy GT.
Which one is safer, faster, more reliable, cheaper to repair.
If got the Impreza what do you think the minimum amount of miles on it that you would think that I should bother fixing the paint job and maybe even putting new head and rear lights on and a carbon hood.
A: There is a big risk in buying any used car with lots of miles. The risk is lower with the better maintained car with fewer miles. If it's in your budget, I would go with the Legacy for that reason. As far as how long it will last, it really depends on how many miles you put on it monthly. Take car of it and there's no reason it shouldn't last 4 more years. The great thing about Subaru's is that lot's of different models shared the same parts and so they are easy to find used parts for. They are also fairly easy to work on. Just buy the car and put a little money away every week just for in case. If nothing goes wrong then you have some cash stashed for your next car.
Q: What car should I get in real life a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 or a Subaru Impreza?
Tell me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like them both
A: Myself i would go for the GTR i like Subaru's but for me with there be so many about and many elderly people driving them it has spoilt a great car.
Also i have owned a R32 and now have the R33 spec 2 GTS-T and they have been great cars,so much fun all round so the chance to own the Daddy of skylines (apart from limited versions)Must be the greatest drive ever.
But you cant go wrong with either but personal choice def the R34.
Q: subaru impreza 2.5 gt leasing price?
can someone find out if you can lease the new subaru impreza 2.5gt it looks like the wrx but its 224 hp and automatic please someone help me find the price
A: Yes, you can lease an Impreza GT. The GT uses last year's WRX's turbo and produces 224 HP and 226 lb/ft of torque but is mated exclusively to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Base MSRP is $27660 on the four door, or $28160 on the five door. I don't know the lease programs off the top of my head, but your local Subaru dealer should be able to tell you. They are only just starting to come off the trucks (there's six in all of New England right now, I just checked) so your selection will be limited at the moment. If I had to guesstimate a lease payment, I would say ROUGHLY that a 36 month lease at 12000 miles per year with nothing but the first payment down will run you about 350/mo. That's using a sale price of $26500, a money factor of 0.00185, a residual of 0.60, and a scientific calculator.
You can actually calculate your own lease payments, you know. All you need to know is the car's MSRP, the sale price, the money factor (aka a legal way of charging interest on a lease), and the residual (or the amount of value the car will retain at lease end). The car's MSRP is $27660, the sale price in my example is $26500 (a couple hundred bucks over invoice), the money factor is 0.00185 (not atypical with Subaru leases), and the residual value is 0.60 (or 60%, again, pretty nominal with Subarus). You calculate the lease end residual (or buyout) by multiplying the MSRP by the residual ($27660 x 0.60 = $16596). You then calculate the "depreciation" (or the amount of the car you're actually using) by subtracting the residual from the sale price ($26500 - $16596 = $9904). You calculate your base payment (before interest) by dividing the depreciation by the term of the lease - in this case, 36 months ($9904/36 = $275.11). To find the interest (or rent, as its called in a lease), you add the sale price and the residual and multiply by the money factor ($26500 + $16596 = $43096 x 0.00185 = $79.73). You then add the base payment and the rent and you get your monthly payment ($275.11 + 79.73 = $354.84). Any cash down is deducted from the depreciation. This figure also does not include the acquisition fee, which ranges anywhere from $595-895 (the amount of this fee is sometimes negotiable with the dealer) or any title, tax, or documentary fees. With a lease, you make your first payment at signing unless otherwise stated. And in case you're curious, the money factor can be converted to an APR if you multiply it by 2400 (in this illustration, 0.00185 x 2400 = 4.44%, which is actually a better APR than a lot of people will get on a purchase).
Q: information about a subaru impreza 2.5gt?
i was looking into a hatchback with great horsepower and preferably automatic. and i found the subaru impreza gt. but it says it has 4 speed automatic, i was wondering if the 4th gear was overdrive.? and if 4 speed if good on a 224 hp engine and what are the cons compared to a 5 speed.?
A: New or used? How old?
Q: Impreza GT Short Shofter SERIOUS PROBLEMS ?
I was really interested to buy a Short Shifter on my '99 Subaru Impreza GT ..but some hours ago I saw you this video but I don't understand what's the problem of these gears .
Is this a Short Shifter problem or not ???????? Or , can I buy a Short Shifter with no Fear ?????
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pXgFK4Ynao&feature=related
A: That is not a short shifter problem. If you get the sort shifter that is made for your transmission, all it does is change the pivot point slightly so the throw is shortened. It still moves the actual linkage connected to the transmission the same amount so the gears will fully engage. I have had a short shifter in all my cars including the 3 WRX's and never had an issue. Kartboy and Perrin are the ones I have used. Of those, I like the Perrin because of the adjustability but the Kartboy shortens the throws more.
The only thing I can think of causing the problem in the video is if they have a short shifter not made for that particualr transmission or the installed it wrong. If you get the right one and install correctly, you have nothing to worry about.
Q: The Subaru Impreza 2.0GT?
I wanted to ask if the 1998 Subaru Impreza GT is turbocharged or naturally aspirated. Answers please?
A: well, bit confused by the question, you may be thinking of this
http://www.fantasycars.com/sedans/HTML/subaru_impreza_gt_turbo_1998.html
in which case, yes, its turbo'd, it's a watered down version of the WRX as the article states
but they never released an impreza like that in the states, unless of course, you're not from the states,
Q: Which subaru should I get? Impreza WRX or Legacy GT?
I am going to get a subaru. But i still need some help on deciding which car should i go for. Impreza WRX or Legacy GT?
A: The Impreza is alot more fun - I really miss mine :o(
Q: My Subaru Impreza MY06 had a shattered rear windscreen. No obvious impact, Has anyone heard of this happening?
The windscreen appeared to have pushed out from the inside. It was still intact but fully shattered with no obvious point of impact. Could this have happened due to residual stresses in the glass developed during manufacture and possibly made worse by 3, 40 degree C (>100 degrees F) days in a row?
Has anyone heard of windscreens shattering in postion without being hit by something?
Could this be covered by warranty?
A: i've worked in insurance for ages and have seen many claims for windscreens.
i've never heard of the above happening, but perhaps someone like o'briens glass or another windscreen repairer can let you know if they've heard of this happening?
if you were to claim on warranty, you'd probably need independent proof that it was heat stress and not any other cause. otherwise, it's an insurance claim.
Q: Where can i get seat covers for my 08' Subaru impreza? and also how could i add a little more power to it?
I just bought a new 08' Subaru impreza and it has light tan fabric seats, so i am really scared to get it stained. So i wanna get nice seat covers for the front and back but i dont wanna pay alot of money for them. So if you have any idea's that will be great.. And alsoo.. My older brother has a 04' vw gli and he has a little work done to it. And my friend has 06' subaru legacy gt. So i was wondering if there was anything i could do to make mine a little quicker so i have a chance to keep up with them. Thank you for your help.
yeah its not a wrx. just a 2.5 hatchback. thank you again for all your help.
A: FYI: your car has seat mounted side airbags, seat covers wouldn't be recommended. Check with your dealer to make sure.
Q: Buying a used subaru impreza car, which should I pick?
I think I want a Subaru impreza, but I don't want the i. There are three that I'm looking at.
1. 2009 impreza 2.5 gt with around 9000 miles for $24000
2. 2007 impreza wrx limited (I don't drive stick, this is the automatic version) with around 21,000 miles for $20,000
3. 2006 impreza wrx Limited with around 32,000 miles for $16,500
if anyone has details about personal experience with driving each car please include them. Thank you!!!!
A: Personally, i can't stand the styling on the 08+ Imprezas. I owned a 2007 WRX TR and absolutely love it. I'd go with the 06 for 16,500. I would recommend that you learn to drive a manual transmission if you want a WRX. The automatic sucks power and takes much of the enjoyment out of driving the car. Whichever you choose i'm sure you'll love it.
Q: Where could I find a turbo kit for a `95 Subaru Impreza?
It's a 1995 Impreza with a 1.8L boxer 4 engine.. I've looked around on a few sites [turbonetics, HKS,..] but I mainly all I could find were the WRX/STI Imprezas >___< Could a turbo kit for one of them fit my '95 Impreza...?
A: You can't find any because your engine can't handle much if any boost. You need to build the motor first then you can pretty much use a kit made for the WRX with some modification and fabrication. That's really your only option other than a swap.
