Q: Has subaru ever made an outback with rear cargo seats?
I used to own a mercury sable station wagon that could seat 8 people (three in the front, three in the rear and two in the cargo area). I swear Ive seen a subaru outback with a similar feature before, but Im not sure how to find a used one or whether or not they even exist. Was this an option at some point on that model?

A: The answer is no, for US model. The 3rd row seats in the outback may be an add-on cushion by the owner. When I drove my outback (the legacy), I used to put a thin mattress and by the night time, I flip the rear seat all the way down to the flat position. Now I have a bed in the rear seat and I can stare through the dual roofs to see the stars... This is not a feature from the Subaru...but I think that is how they designed the 'option' for the driver to use.

Q: How much would it cost to replace the head gasket on a Subaru?
I'm considering purchasing a 98 Subaru Outback Legacy, but the particular car has not had its head gasket replaced (and it's pretty much guaranteed that it will eventually go for that particular model/year). How much would it cost to have something like that done when it does go?

A: starting price per head around $1200 if you have the water pump, timing belt and other things replace while you have it apart the total for both sides can come to around $4500. That's what our 98 cost to do I had 4 quotes and 4500 was middle range but the shop had the best reputation still going strong 45k miles later.

Q: Can anyone tell me how to connect a BearPace 400 analyser to a Subaru Legacy twin turbo?
I have a Bear Pace 400 engine analyser but not sure how to connect to a subaru twin turbo (95) as it has the direct ignition system (coil on plug) so no HT wires. Anyone done this?

A: I'm a member of uklegacy.com, they'll be able to answer your question no problem... Hope that helps.

Q: What should I do about my 1990 subaru legacy?
I used a can of k&w block sealer on my 1990 subaru legacy to fix the head gasket. This was january of 08. It is still running grteat but I was wondering if I should use another can of k&w or something else to help keep it running.

A: I would start making plans to get it fixed right by a machine shop or engine rebuilder. If nothing else you'll get someone that can check for warpage on the head and or cracks in the block. Block sealer is kind of a last ditch effort before actually having to rebuild it. That being said the want and money are two different categories. Too much of the sealer can cause more internal damage so i would wait until it shows sign of failing again before adding more. but if you plan to keep the car either go the rebuilder/ machine shop route or source another engine

Q: Does a Subaru Forester typically overheat on long trips?
I just recently bought a subaru forester and ive been on 2 trips, one about an hour long and another about three. on both trips it overheated but i cant seem to find a significant leak in the radiator or the coolant reservoir. any suggestions?

A: No, it should be at the temperature of the thermostat. If it's overheating, there is a problem. It's possible to overheat without a significant leak. Check hoses. Especially the bottom one, it may be closing on vacuum and stopping water flow. Make sure it has a thermostat and it's working properly, especially if it seems to take a long time to reach operating temperatures. The vanes on the water pump might be worn to the point where water isn't circulating fast enough, or you may have a plugged radiator. Have you had your mechanic look at it? What did he say?

Q: What is the difference between these 2009 Subaru Imprezas?
What is the difference between the 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5i, Impreza 2.5i Premium, and Impreza Outback Sport?

A: The Premium is just an option package. Check their site and it will tell you exactly what it includes. The outback has a two tone color scheme. Otherwise they are all identical as far as engine and drivetrain go.

Q: What are the differences in the subaru models?
What are the differences in the 2004 subaru impreza rs and the 2004 subaru impreza sti. I know the sti has a bigger motor, and I believe better struts (shocks) but what else is there

A: Exterior: the 2004 is remodel from 2003, the tear-eye headlight instead of the bud-eye. Also, the RS is deleted the hood bonnet and the STI has a bigger bonnet. Tire sizes are different, suspension system is different. Of course, you can fit the parts from RS to STI or STI to RS (excluded some option items, such as the HID headlights and wide body fenders. Interior, room size is technically same. Engine (Motor) is 2.5L NA vs Turbo charge. The RS did not have the so-call big brake kit that STI has. STI is rather a sport / race tuned; while the RS is typical street car (unlike the 1999 to 2001 US model). Traction control, VDDC, LSD are totally different between the two cars.

Q: Should I allow my Subaru to cool after driving in the city?
My Subaru WRX, has a 2.5 turbo engine. Should I let it cool down after driving or turn it off like any other car?

A: check in your owners manual to see if you need to idle it down before shutting it off, some of the newer turbo cars don't need to be cooled before shutting off, but it never hurts to cool them down before you shut it off, and if you idle it down you won't have to worry about turbo damage, you only need to idle it for two or three minutes.

Q: How can I stop the acceloation lag in my 1999 subaru?

Q: Can i make a 2006 Subaru Legacy more comfortable to ride in?
I have a 2006 Subaru Legacy and it is the most uncomfortable car when it hits bumps, and the problem is the streets around here need work. I do have the Yokahama low profile tires. Could it just be the tires, or is there something else that can handles the bumps better?

A: 1. Where is your stock (OE) tires? 2. If you change to low profile tires, did you adjust the suspension to hard or soft? 3. Legacy in that year, except the GT and Spec B, which is on "hard" and performance suspensions, it will give you a very bumpy ride on rough road. You probably need to adjust the suspension setting if you can, if not, try to lower the pressure of the tires, I am assuming that you have 40 psi out of 42 psi. Lower to 35 psi or 32 to see if the bumpy ride goes away.

Q: How of you think The Subaru WRX STi is the most over rated Car in the world?
I think the Evo 9 is better hands down. Besides Subaru cheated and made it a 2.5 litre. Thats not rally specs.

A: I LOVE my EVO 8 MR and I eat sti's for breakfast... and they run slower in the 1/4 mile by almost a second and a half and run slower in a 6 turn course by almost 2 minutes.. they where compared on car and drive and the evo 8 and 9 won hands down
