Q: Pontiac Vibe ?
I'am from Ukraine and I know nothing bout US lows and taxes. So, the 1-st question is: does MSRP includes any taxes or I shoud pay it additionally?
Аnd 2-nd one:
How much I need to pay for Pontiac Vibe 1.8L Base (to export)
Thanks in advance!
But how much shoud I pay (in %) ?
A: It depends on where you buy it. Each city and state in the US has a different tax rate.
On average, you can expect to pay about 10% in tax, title, and paperwork for the purchase. Then, consider that Ukrainian customs will charge you roughly 20% for import duties on the car.The cost of shipping the car will run a couple thousand dollars, and you may be subject to fees for making sure the car meets Ukrainian standards before you can license it there.
Q: How much weight can I carry in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe?
I am getting ready to move to another state. How much weight can I carry in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe?
It is the base model with standard transmission if that matters.
A: Towing with a hitch 1500 pounds. Inside you should be able to carry about the same weight.
Q: pontiac vibe?
A: Great rebates and a great car . GM has a product no one else can compare too!
Q: Is the 5 year service contract protection plan from GM worth it for the 2010 2.4L Pontiac Vibe?
This is a GM Protection Plan for the 2010 Pontiac Vibe. Does anyone know from personal experience, or anything, if this plan is well worth it? It claims that it covers anything having to do with the car. Does this include scratches, dents, and other things related to exterior, etc? Thanks for your reply.
A: No, these service plans usually do not cover the exterior such as the paint , dents, etc.
They cover mechanical problems.
If you afford it it is well worth it as long as the milage is pretty good.
There should already be a warranty that covers the car for a certain amount of time.
The service plan extends that period.
Q: Where to buy a battery hold down retainer bolt for a 2006 Pontiac Vibe.?
My 2006 Pontiac Vibe is missing the battery hold down retainer bolt. This bolt secures the battery hold down bar the front part, bolting in next to the radiator. I am not looking for the very long bolt with the hook on the end, I just looking for the inch tall bolt. Its just a $3 or less generic bolt, but its surprisingly hard to find. Thanks
I don't know what size it is and whether or not its metric.
A: Go to a hardware store, and just buy a bolt, if that is what you meant. Otherwise, just go to your dealership, and buy one there.
Q: What do you think of the Pontiac Vibe?
I had my heart set on a VW Jetta, but they're a bit out of my price range...
I've found a really nice 2003 Pontiac Vibe for an equally nice price. It's a clean car and drives well, but it needs new window tinting and a better dash-radio, both of which are easily fixable.
What do you guys think, is this a good car? Should I get the Vibe or keep looking?
A: Vibes are good cars with few problems the only one being Toyota engines oil sludge problem. The body is Pontiac the engine is Toyota. If its a good deal and you have a trusted mechanic check it out get it.
Q: Is there a bike carrier to fit a '09 Pontiac Vibe without installing a hitch?
I'd like to find a bike carrier to fit my '09 Pontiac Vibe. I don't want to install a hitch and my car does not have a roof rack. Is there anything out there that will attach to the hatchback?
A: Here is your rear mount: http://www.thuleracks.com/fg_trunk.asp?car_id=9119&sport=22&year=2009&factory_id=&option_number=1 it fits and it isnt that expensive. Dont know where you are but Performance bike sells Thule racks just give them the # of the rack you need and they will give you a price for it. You can have it shipped to any store for pickup or anywhere else that sells Thule racks is fine too.
Q: Why is my Pontiac vibe squealing at 50 mph?
My pontiac vibe is squealing at around 50 mph an lower speeds. when I touch the brake pedal it goes away. Is it my brake pads or?
A: This is your timing belt, it's called slipping when you tap your brakes it causes the engine to get a quick stall (fraction of a second) but enough to let the belt catch up. you can also use the rev the engine technique as well to clear that out. Just get some soap and rub it on the inside of the belt, it will cause it to keep grip. Use regular bar soap not scented this or irish that just good old fashioned bar soap.
Q: Should I buy a 2003 Pontiac Vibe with 160K miles on it?
It's a great buy - below Bluebook. I've been looking for a Vibe, but this is the first one in my price range. The miles are 95% highway miles and the maintance records are good. Should I be scared off by the high mileage?
A: If you can get it real cheap
Q: How much does it cost to install power locks and windows with key-less entry in a new 2009 Pontiac Vibe?
Okay so I just bought my first new car hooray! :)
One problem, the dealer did not have any new Vibe's with the preferred package (power locks / windows with key-less entry) left so I had to get it without this feature.
My question is how much would it cost to install that out of my own pocket? I don't mean doing the actual installation myself, just taking it to a professional and having them do it.
Thanks!
A: The locks are cheap, but the windows are expensive! Everyone charges around $250 for the locks. Expect at least $1,500 just for the windows, wiring, switches and door panels just for the front windows. I would get the power locks, but skip the windows.
Q: What is the lowest price for a new Pontiac Vibe?
GM gave dealerships 6-7 thousand dollars off on their Pontiac and Saturn cars to help retire these brands.
A: If you can find one as of this morning GM had 867 mew Pontiac's in the US. Cheapest one around $10000
Q: Does anyone other there have a Pontiac Vibe?
I'm looking for a new car, and the Vibe is looking like a good option. I would love any opinions on this vehicle from other owners. Is it comfy? Would you recommend it to someone else? Is there anything that you don't like about it? Thanks!
A: The Vibe is the cousin of the Toyota Matrix. Both cars are well liked by the automotive press, but the Matrix is listed as having a slightly better quality record.
Q: What is the lowest price you could find for a new Pontiac Vibe?
GM gave dealerships 6-7 thousand dollars off on their Pontiac and Saturn cars to help retire these brands.
A: Base Vibes go for about $14k to start. With the closing of Pontiac they may be a bit cheaper, but not by much because most people are aware that it is just a Toyota Matrix in disguise. The only $10k Pontiacs are the short lived G3 (Chevy Aveo clone).
Q: How do we get optimum MPG with 2005 Pontiac Vibe on Highway?
We have a 2005 Vibe with only 22,000 miles. We took it on the Intersate for about 300 roundtrip. what is the best way to optimize the gas mileage? Best speed to travel, etc.
A: I'll post what I do to get 36 mpg highway in my Alero (only rated at 28).
Air up the tires to max psi (on the sidewall). This will cause less rolling resistance. The ride may be a little rougher now, but the savings are worth it.
The before mentioned maintenance. A dirty air filter or old spark plugs can drop a few mpg by itself. A bad oxygen sensor or fuel filter can take off 30% of your mileage. Seriously.
Junk outta the trunk! I've read that every extra100 pounds decreases mileage by .5 mpg.
Drive slower. This is the big one. Prius owners have done several tests and proved that the best mileage is around 45 mph. This is because the engine is in the highest gear and at low rpms. Any more speed and the rpms go up, as does the fuel used. On road trips I do about 60, which is a very noticeable savings from 70. If you have a manual, always have it in 5th (or 6th, depending on your Vibe).
Drafting. This can be dangerous, but the fuel savings are massive. Find a semi truck with trailer and get about 2 or 3 car lenths behind it. You will notice that you can come off the throttle a LOT, as the truck is creating a vacuum that pulls you along. Drivers of some light cars like Geo Metros and Ford Festivas have been known to put it in neutral while drafting and get pulled for hundreds of miles while at idle. Talk about saving gas!
Stay off the brakes. Every time you brake, you have to use more gas to get back up to speed again.
Buy gas that doesn't have ethanol in it. 10% ethanol is required in a lot of places for emissions reasons, but it reduces mileage by 15 - 20%. 7-11, Williams, Walmart, Sam's Club, On Cue, and other cheapie places all run gasohol. Buy from "top tier" places like Shell, Conoco, Chevron, etc. Yes, it will cost a little more, but you'll make up for it with the extra mileage.
Check the links below and have fun with it. I bet you could get 40 mpg easily.
Q: How much does my car weigh? (I own a Pontiac Vibe)?
Does gas add a lot of extra weight? I was just curious to see how much my Pontiac Vibe weighed.
A: Well the 2005 4dr. Pontiac Vibe wagon w/A.T. is 2980 lbs. 2700 lbs. w. M.T.
