A: What!?! Ugly? What planet are you on? The Solstice is the hottest car on the planet right now! And Car and Driver said it beats the BMW Z4 and Nissan Z. I'm just wishing I can drive one in the next few years... (and I'm a dealer!)

Okay, since GM filed for bankruptcy and it stated it's phasing out it's Pontiac brand. My question is how much would I be able to purchase a new Pontiace Solstice? Since the company would no longer exist, and it would try to sell the rest of its vehicles.
A: im not sure but you should probably get it now before all of the dealerships are gone. also you might want to try looking at the saturn sky. there very similar but in my opinion the saturn sky is alot nicer and the saturn brand is going to be bought so youll probably still get the warrenty for your car if something happens

Zip Code is actually pretty crucial in the calculation of insurance because if you live in a high crime zip code where your car is more likely to be damaged or stolen, that will add more to your premium.

If I got a used 2006 Mustang GT Premium coupe would it be more or less money, insurance wise, then a 2007 Pontiac Solstice? In other words, which would have higher insurance?
I said the Mustang would be a coupe, not a convertible. But it would be V8. While the Solstice only comes in Convertible. I would think that the Solstice would be higher, because of it's 'smallness'. But I am not sure. Anyone know for sure?
A: There are so many variables.. it depends on how old you are, your record, etc..
I remember when I traded in my '91 Escort GT for an '88 Mustang GT; I was 21, and I was cringing in the insurance agent's office, bracing myself, well surprise surprise, my rates went down, not up. Because I had a clean record and the car was older. I guess they didn't care that I was going from a 4-cylinder car to a V8.

A: If you look on the manufacturers label on the inside of the driver's side door panel, it will tell you front, rear, and gross weights.

i have a small budget of about $10,000 and need a car i was thinking of a new beetle convertible or pontiac solstice. i know, don't laugh, a pontiac solstice is more pricey and not near $10,000 but was hoping if anyone knows of any on sale or a place to get them for cheap.

A: here in s.w. missouri u can buy a convertable new beetle for under $10G, but it won't be a new new beetle. ur prolly looking at an '03.
try looking at e-bay or calling a few dealers in ur area and 'put out the word' as to what ur looking for, they have the resources, they can find u what u want.
Q: I have rectangular marks on the soft top of my Pontiac Solstice, anyone have the same problem?
I have had my solstice for almost a year and on both the driver and passenger sides there is a mark the shape of a rectangle on the soft top. I finally realized when the top is down there are two pieces of plastic on the inside of the trunk that push down on the top when it is down. I am becoming very concerned about this for cosmetic reasons and because I fear it may actually put a hole in it over time. Has anyone else had this problem or know of any remedies?
A: Is the rectangle just a crease on the top, or is it actually damaged to the point of having been stretched or scratched?
Best thing to do is take it to a Pontiac dealer for them to look at - While your waiting to get it in, resist the temptation to put the top down. Leave it up so that you do not damage it anymore than it may have already been.
If your under warranty, they'll take a look at the cause and work to fix or alleviate that. For the top itself, a replacement will depend on how permanent the damages are.

A: There is no car made specifically for a girl or boy but girls tend to prefer certain cars and boys others. I have sold more girls Solstice's than boys. I have sold more Sunfires to girls. I sale more trucks to boys. But there are exceptions to any thing I say. My Mom has a Camaro 2010 and a 2005 Crew cab Z71 Silverado.

I don't know which to choose. I'm kinda leaning toward the Pontiac cuz Saturn's are junk cars. But what do you think?
A: Saturn's aren't junk cars, they're just underrated/under appreciated thanks to Chevrolet.
Saturn Aura was the 2007 North American Car of the Year. The Saturn Vue has very good reviews, and the Saturn Outlook does too.
The reason for Saturn's downfall is because ever since its release it's always had an identity crisis. And ever since Pontiac stopped selling the Firebird, the too had an identity crisis. That's why they are both going to auto brand heaven.
As for Sky vs Solstice. They are essentially the same. But IMO the Sky has a much nicer looking front end than the Solstice.

Are the top speeds in a gxp limited? Can i get the gxp to go any faster than the speedometer limits?
A: The GXP has a smaller engine running at higher pressure. It actually gets better gas mileage than the regular version. It has the highest specific output of any engine GM has ever produced. I'd expect the engine to be finicky as a result, but maybe I'll be wrong.
Road and Track reported 142 mph top speed, which was not an artificial limit. That's just as fast as it would go.

A: Unless you've done something wrong it needs neither brakes nor a tune up. Front brakes should last at least 30,00 miles unless you ride the brakes like an old man all the time.
Brakes, figure $140 for new pads plus labor. The rears have 40,000 miles left unless you're done something very wrong.
Your car doe snot get tuned up. It's self-adjusting and have platinum spark plugs. Get new plugs and wires at 60-80,000 miles and you're good to go. Have them done with the timing belt
