Q: How to program the remote keyless entry clicker on a 2002 Nissan Altima?
I bought a used Nissan Altima (2002) and they gave me a keyless remote buy did not know how to program it. Can anyone help? Also, I only got 1 key and would like to make copies...does anyone know if the Altima keys have that chip inside and have to be purchased from a dealer or can I just bring it to a hardware store to copy? I'd really appreciate help on programming the keyless remote! Thanks!
A: I should cut and paste this: roll down windows, take key out of the switch, use switch lock doors, insert and withdraw key 6 times in ten seconds plenty of time do not rush. turn signal green arrows will blink, put key in and turn to ON that is just before crank, push any button on first remote turn signal arrows flash to tell you programed. Second remote unlock and re lock then push remote button turn signal flash. To exit remote programing either turn key to start or open drivers door. Now take Key less entry fob and see if all the buttons work. Bet you did not know if you hold down unlock the front windows will go down? and chirp to confirm can be turned on and off by holding lock and unlock buttons. I like the confirmation beep. Key has a chip Your dealer will have to program or advanced "lock- smith" Any key work you must bring in all the keys and not use, any unprogramed key. Tell your insurance company your car has immobilizer/alarm and get 10 to 15% off.

A: if it was well maintained and you maintain it well, it will last well into the 300 or 400s. you may need to replace your transmission and a few other things not too far down the road, but you should be alright.
if its a 3.5 se v6 you should be alright
if its a 2.5 s 4 cylinder id be cautious. in altimas 02-06...bad engines however if that is the original engine then its ok. i had to replace the motor on my 03 altima at 61,100 miles

My Impala has 78,xxx miles and is all leather. The Nissan Altima has 113,xxx miles and I will get $1400 out of it. I like the Altima a lot more but I am worried because of the miles. I need the car to last me for probably 4 years, is the reasonable. What is your opinion?
A: If they were the same age and mileage the Altima is a better car, but I would not make that deal, you are giving up a nicer equipment level, a year newer car, and 35000 miles for just $1400?

A: For this price, I would just recommend powdercoating your current rims, or buy someone's factory Nissan rims and powdercoat those. Anything you get for less than $450 will be poor quality, unless you get rims from like a Maxima or newer Altima.
Q: Can i put exhaust tips on a 2002 nissan altima 2.5s?
I have a 2002 nissan altima 2.5s and i want to put chrome exhaust tips on it. It has 2 small exhaust pipes coming out the one side of it and the big problem is about half way down the pipes its bends a little bit down. So am i able to put chrome tips on it??? Thanks for the help!!!
A: yeah i know what ur talking aboutjust buy the chrome tips at ur local autozone and a muffler shop will probably charge like 20 bucks to cut the stockers and put the chrome ones on

Also, I've heard on some cars the water pump should be changed at the same time. Is this the case for the Altima w/ the 3.5L V6?
A: The timing chain guides wear away and break and the chain becomes noisy. Yes anything under the timing cover worn or broken also needs to be changed. If the car has 100,000 or more mileage water pump may not last another trip around the odometer. Because many Nissan Technicians remove the entire power train to have room to remove and install the timing chain covers. Several things to think about because some time we also need valve cover gaskets spark plugs motor mounts and new radiators CV joints and all those extras can get expensive. Keep in mind a new car would cost more but if your car has 200,000 it might be time to trade out of the 8 year old sedan.

A: Power socket is not a Cigarette lighter socket. You knew that that other answerer. Now you can purchase a Smokers kit that includes a socket lighter and a cup holder ash tray. Then have some one who knows how to remove the center console box install it. "courtesyparts.com" + shipping or call your local dealer. Isn't it time to stop smoking. I quit then CIG's hit $3.50 a pack what are they now?

A: Just (4) 5mm socket headed cap bolts and the rubber boot. Try courtesyparts.com and reuse the metal gasket. Easy just getting the code cleared (auto parts store) The nissan part number is different and the throttle chamber (Nissan Calls it) is now available as a re-manufactured part. $468.72 is to high of a price. That sounds like full retail Nissan Dealership installed price.

I just had mine done, on a 3000gt. But the part is pretty much the same, regardless of car.
