A: The ignition cylinder is broken and must be replaced. You may also need to replace the steering column as well.

A: Most likely way is.... there is a set button on your garage door opener motor (you'll need a ladder)... press it... you have a few seconds to press one of the buttons on your visor (your car may require just one button, not any) You should now be set.
Q: How can I unlock my nissan sentra without a key?
I locked my keys in my car last night and I don't really have any money to call AAA or a locksmith. I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra. Is there any other way I can unlock it?
A: I gently pull back on the back top corner of the passengers side door frame insert my wallet that 1/4 inch will give you room to use a 1/8" metal rod approx 3 feet long with a 90 degree bend on one end about a inch bent to hook the door lock and pull backward. Strong fence wire like top wire of chain link fence. But not your car antenna it looks funny when you bend the end and is just about 4 or 5 inches to short. Passengers side should you tear the rubber your ear is not right there listening to the wind noise. Coat hanger might not be strong enough to pull back that lock... Good Luck

How do I switch out the shift knob for an automatic transmission Nissan Sentra 98'? I unscrewed the 2 screws to take the original one off but it seems to be attached to some white rubbery wire. Can I even switch itout for a custom one I found? Thank you.
A: SHORT ANSWER NO! THE ONLY THING YOU COULD DO IS LOOK TO FIND AN AFTERMARKET (B&M MAYBE) SHIFT LEVER.

So, i'm considering a purchase of a Nissan Pathfinder. But right now I have a lovely little 4 cylinder that costs 16.57 to fill up (at current gas rates $1.99)

A: Ok at $2 a gallon a 2000 to 2004 pathfinder has a 20.7 gallon tank SO around 40 dollars with 1 gallon left reserve. Just remember that bigger heavy SUV that is not areodynamic will not get as good fuel economy. But it will be more rugged able to tow a trailer and much more cargo room.
Q: Is it possible to swap a 1993 Nissan 300ZX's automatic transmission for a manual transmission?
I found a beautiful 1993 Nissan 300ZX 2+2, but it's an automatic. In fact, I'm not even sure I want a transmission swap. Is there a drastic difference between automatic and manual transmission in these cars? Thanks a lot!
A: It is possible but it involves a lot of work.
For the hardware, you need to find not only the transmission, but also the clutch pedal, lines, clutch fluid reservoir, and something you probably don’t even imagine: a new driveshaft. Why? Because the auto and manual transmission are different at the rear end and each has its own driveshaft. Of course you can always cut the driveshaft front end and replace it with the correct one, but that is only if you are able to find that one part which is not sold alone.
For the software (yes that too), you need to trick the ECU into thinking you are in Park or Neutral in order to be able to turn ON the engine. There is some hard wiring necessary for this or you can replace the ECU all together for a manual transmission ECU.
I helped doing this swap on a 94 Twin Turbo and it was very hard, but the result was very nice and since we did the hard wiring, we left it so you can turn ON the engine without using the clutch.
Just on the side note, the Automatic Transmission for the NA (non turbo model) is very bad and tends to fail after 40 to 50K miles if you don’t take care of it. The manual is much better and you only have to worry about the clutch on the TT, but for the NA, you should be just fine.

I have a 97 xe Nissan truck that has a 2.4 engine. What other engines are compatible with this truck. I have heard of someone using American engines in this truck . Can this be true? Is there a 6cyl that will work in this truck?
A: You can replace the 2.4L KA24E with the 3.0L V6 VG30E engine. Nissan never offered a V6 in their trucks after 1995 but they should still fit right in. You can probably put a small block engine in it since the engine compartment is large enough to accommodate it.one

A: A 2004 car is still a very young car so i would recommend using the manufacturers genuine oil which should be found in ur manual.
Q: How long does it take to complete a drive cycle on a 1996 Nissan Altima 5-speed?
I have a 1996 Nissan Altima 5-speed that needs an emissions test. Most of the drive cycle is complete and I have a list of the steps to complete the drive cycle.
I was wondering if I had to do each step in one outing or can I do them on different outings or days. Or even perform some of the steps out of order.
A: I have seen several early 1996 Altimas/ Sentras that never complete all the checks. Evap will not pass if below 1/4 tank or above 3/4 tank. Some States emissions testing allows the 1996 car to run on the rollers for tail pipe emissions and that may be what you need to do (in Texas). Replacing the Engine Control Module some times fixes the non complete drive Cycle too.
Q: Are Nissan dealers allowed to service the Altima Hybrid in states in which it's not sold?
I live in Michigan and am seriously considering the Altima Hybrid (not sold in this state). Would a Michigan dealership be allowed to service the car? Or is Nissan putting a moratorium on Altima Hybrid work outside of the "8 states"?

A: Technically, they can, but you'll be jumping through a lot of hoops to make it happen. The problem is that any technician that works on the car has to be tested and certified to work specifically on the hybrid model. If a dealership is in a state that doesn't sell the car, it usually isn't worth the money for them to certify all their technicians. That means Nissan may end up having to send qualified personnel maybe from out of state to the dealer to service the car, and you could end up waiting a few days for simple repairs.

Looking at buying a nissan micra 1991 1l but what to know how much it would be to fix it up as it needed a new clutch.
A: if u were getting the car for free then it might be worth putting a clutch in d.i.y £50.00 or garage about £250.00. unless that car is a mint example with very low miles and no body damage i would not put my hand in my wallet to pay anything at all, a 1991 micra in good nick with tax and mot will cost around £300.00 on e-bay, dont bother with that one my friend walk away, walk away.
