Q: How can I change the thermometer of a Jeep Compass from Fahrenheit to Celsius?
Hello. I have a Jeep Compass 2008, made in USA. I would like to change the thermometer from Fahrenheit to Celsius. Is that possible and how ? (maybe also from Miles to Kilometers, but the most important for me is the thermometer). Thank you!!! It is not in the owners manual

A: Found it in the owners manual. Press and release the EVIC button* until Personal Settings is displayed in the EVIC. Use the EVIC button to scroll to "Display English or Metric" Press and hold the EVIC button when in this display until “US” or “METRIC” appears to make your selection. *Button located in the lower left part of the cluster below the fuel and engine temperature gauge.

Q: how many air filters does a 2008 jeep compass have?
Purchased a 2008 Jeep Compass (sport) 1 year ago (and a week) i changed the air filter, but it is starting to give a musty smell when i turn on the heat. Does the compass have a different air filter or just the 1 for the car and cabin?

A: It can have a cabin air filter, but most vehicles ship without it. Either way, you can access the cabin air filter housing by opening the glovebox all the way (squeeze the sides so it clears the stops). The filters are around $15 at the dealer. Whether or not there's a cabin filter installed, make sure you're also following Chrysler's recommendations in the owner's manual—running the air on recirculate all the time will encourage mold and bacteria to grow. Use fresh air once the vehicle has cooled down, and try to turn off the A/C compressor (just use vent) a few minutes before arriving at your destination.

Q: 2009 Jeep Compass - sometimes headlights stay on for about 90 seconds after I lock the doors?
I just bought a 2009 Jeep Compass - I do not have the EVIC option. Twice, the headlights stayed on for about 90 seconds after I lock the doors. I have had the car for a week and a half. I have read the owner's manual - only mentions changing the option if you have EVIC. Also - it has only happened twice. I would understand if it happened all the time, but only twice?

A: most cars do that anymore for safety and so you can see when its dark out side.

Q: Why the hate toward the Jeep Compass?
I have noticed alot of negative feedback from the Jeep Compass. Why? Is Jeep trying to make more fuel effiecent cars really that bad a thing? Jeep's sales numbers have gone down in the past years, so releasing the Patroit and the Compass are them trying to join the fuel-efficent world. I have a Grand Cherokee, costs my 70 a week cause I'm driving a lot, I'm looking at getting the Compass because it is better on gas then my Grand Cherokee. Not everyone with a Jeep goes offroading.

A: it has bad quality than other jeeps and it is fwd it is a weak suv and plus it looks ugly and it will get better mpg but it weak, and cheap.

Q: Jeep Compass owners: How much does it cost you to refuel your tank?
From empty to a full tank? Are you satisfied with your Jeep? Would you recommend buying one?

A: it all depends on what someone is paying for gas and if it has Ethanol on it with E!0 or E15 any and all vehicles get a drop in fuel economy by around 4 - 5 MPG and the Jeep only gets around 15 - 17 city MPG OH well our US government wants ethanol in all out gas and that stuff kills the insides of a lot of the engines good luck smile

Q: where can I get Jeep Compass Wheels?
I have a black 2007 Jeep Compass and I was wondering what kind of wheels i could put on it. There are a few other Jeeps like mine in town and one has some very nice looking black wheels. Does anyone know any sites i can browse for some new wheels?

A: If you had bought a real Jeep maybe I could help you out. Joking. But, try looking on discount tire or some 4X4 site for black powder coated wheels.

Q: What would be the depreciation of a Jeep Compass with a Front end repair?
The wife got hit leaving work and the insurance adjusted said to ask about the value of the depreciation that the wreck caused.. This is (was) a new vehicle. There a catch...Alabama has no law requiring the insurer to pay depreciation value but sometimes they do.. Any thought about how much we should get...The repair cost was a little under $800. Any feedback is welcome.

A: the vehicle wouldnt depreciate that much, maybe by 400 dollars on kelly blue book

Q: What kind of gas mileage does a 2007 Jeep Compass get?
A dealer is trying to tell me that its epa estimates are 25/29, can this be true?

A: if you go to fueleconomy.gov it will tell you the gas mileages to almost every vehicle made

Q: How do I turn the TPMS off on a Jeep Compass?
I have been using my winter wheels and tires since November, and have had it with chiming and flashing light every time I start the car. Does anyone know how to turn the tire pressure monitoring system off?

A: Another example of the law of unintended consequences. TPMS is a wonderful Idea but the design failed to anticipate the common practice of mounting winter tires on used or aftermarket rims ... so instead of recognizing that the installed rims do not have the TPMS transponders installed the system simply screams FLAT TIRE all the time... If there is no procedure to deactivate the system described in the owners manual then I can well imagine what kind of expensive nightmare they will be for owners when they age and the transponders start to fail. Check your owners manual and if no luck there visit your dealership and at the very least lodge a complaint so they know that it is a problem.

Q: what kind of services do i need to get for my jeep compass?
My car hit 30,000 miles and i was wondering what kind of services i need for my car.

A: Refer to your owner's manual for guidance. Always go to your book first.

Q: Where can I find aftermarket parts for a 2008 Jeep Compass?
No knock-off chinese/e-bay parts, only brands that are legitimate. oh and would caliber srt-4 parts fit on a compass considering that the engine is the same?

A: only place that would work with a vehicle that new would be to go to to the dealer. or a performance shop

Q: Does anyone have an opinion on the new Jeep Compass?
I'm thinking about purchasing one. I haven't gone to test drive it yet but I've seen some prety good reviews. Thanks!

A: I'm in the auto business and I help people at my credit union purchase vehicles. I delivered a Jeep Compass last month. My impression? I think it is a good vehicle that should give you years of trouble-free driving. The Dodge Caliber is the same vehicle with different standard features. I think you should test drive one to find out if you like the car. Go to the dealership with the intention of only test driving the car. You should also try the Toyota Matrix and Mazda 3 for comparison. Also, if you plan to test drive all three, the dealer can't pressure you into buying the car on the spot - unless you give in. Here is a great tip on dealing with salesmen. Be honest! Tell the salesman what you are doing - I'm testing three cars and I'm not sure which one I'll buy. After the test drive, see if the salesman is fair - he'll try one close and he should let you go without much pressure. If he does, I would ask for his card and go to the next test drive. If he is pushy, just walk out the door. You will get the best pricing by doing your purchase over the phone. Ask specifically for the salesman you like and find out what his best price is. If he tells you he cannot quote over the phone, tell him you need to do it this way and you prefer using his dealership. If he persists, go to another dealer. When you get an offer that you can live with, have the salesman fax or email the following information: Year, Make and Model (with trim level and option package), VIN number, MSRP price, selling price before tax and license and including tax and license. This is an offer for contract and the dealership cannot refuse to honor it, unless the car is sold prior to you accepting the offer. Good luck! Greg

Q: Would the 2007 Jeep Compass be a good family car in fuel efficency and comfort?
Proformance, Stlye, and Popularity.

A: Fuel efficiency, yes, comfort... maybe. Depends on whether or not anyone in your family is particularly tall.
