Q: How can you tell the Difference between Jeep CJ and YJ front fenders?
What is the differance between a Jeep CJ and YJ front fenders..? Will they interchange?? How do I tell them appart if looking at one at a swap-meet???

Q: I get heavy exhaust smell when driving my Jeep CJ 7. Any ideas of why?
I have a 79 Jeep CJ 7 with an inline 6. The exhaust system splits off the header for dual exhaust and the exit pipes are straight out the back about 6 inches from the outside on each side. Somehow exhaust is getting back into the cabin. Ideas why?
A: Have u chk'd the gasket at the manifolds? Cud be leaking here or somewhere else at the muffler or catalytic converter connections. Another thing is the chk that you are not dropping oil unto the exhaust system and its burns and this is what u smell inside your jeep. Do u have injectors on it? If so another norm is one is leaking and the gas is burning and u smell this, I had this problem on my 89 Cherokee until I changed the leaking ones.
Q: does a jeep wrangler fit in a jeep cj 7?
I have a jeep cj project that i want to install ac in, but the engine doesnt have ac built it. i was wondering since wranglers have ac if you can put a wrangler engine into a jeep cj7.
A: yes
but
AC isn't "built into" an engine. It is "built into" the car.

Q: Will a Jeep Wrangler YJ or TJ Hardtop fit on a Jeep CJ-7?
I am wondering if a hardtop for the 1987-96 Wrangler YJ or 1997-2006 Wrangler TJ will fit on a 1979 Jeep CJ-7. Not sure if it is possible, just curious.
A: The TJ hard top will not fit on a CJ but YJ hardtops will fit same goes for the full doors. we have a 1990 YJ hard top on a 1982 CJ right now
Q: How can I convince my dad to let me get a jeep wranlger or CJ?
My dad is dead set on if I get a Jeep Wrangler or CJ that I will flip it and die. I need to know if they can flip over easy and how I can convince him to let me get one.
A: Tell your father that you changed your mind and now you want a motorcycle. Maybe he might think that a Jeep is not a bad idea after all.

A: I have dual cherrybombs on my 78 CJ5 with a 304. It sounds great when you step on it but when cruising you can still talk in the cab, imagine that.
I have only heard that they sound good on a v8. If you have the I6 I would go with a flowmaster 40 but I highly reccomend cherrybombs.
Basically you would find the size you need, measure your pipes and then pay a shop 20 bucks to weld it in with a tail pipe, make sure it comes out the back and goes to the side and down, or else it will go into the cab.
Q: is a 1967 jeep cj eassy to lift and find parts for lifting?
i am having trouble finding ways to lift my jeep i think one easy way to accomplish this is spring over axle but i dont know how to modify the steering and i cant find any steering parts for when you do that.
A: Check this link below. This owner did a great job on his 63. I like getting ideas for my Jeep from publications like JP. I would also sign up to their forum and ask more Jeepers what they have done.
Q: jeep cj's and yj's, are the bodies interchangeable?
I have 3 jeep bodies and frames and I am trying to make 1 driveable. Are they interchangeable? 1 is a 1984 cj-7 frame, and I have 1989 yj laredo tub to put on it. Will it work?
A: You may have to check the body mount locations, but as far as I know the tubs are interchangeable. Of course the one problem you would run into is the location of the fuel filler, since the CJ's was on the passenger side and the YJ's was on the drivers side.
Q: How much is this worth? 87 Jeep CJ, over 100K miles, hole in windsheild, needs brakes and cosmetic work.?
Its my brother in laws, he's been saying hes gonna fix it up but he's not. I want to offer hom some money but can't break the bank. Any thoughts?
A: Well if it is an 87 it is a YJ not a CJ (87 was the first year for the Wrangler). And I probably would not pay more than $1,500 for it (and even that can be pricey if it needs a lot of work).
If it has round headlights it is a CJ and not an 87 (it would be older). If it has square headlights it is a YJ and then would be an 87.
Q: how much money should i expect for a set of soft jeep CJ-7 doors, and roof, with accesories?
the doors and top are from a model from the 70s, and everything is original Jeep. There is a large case that is customized to fit in the back of this model Jeep that holds the roof. It is all in really good condition.

Q: why are the passenger and driver's side mirrors different on a jeep cj?
i have a jeep cj8 scrambler and noticed that the side mirrors arent the same and was wondering if there was a specific reason for it.
A: Yes there is. They are different so you can see out of the passenger side easier (or so they claim)
To use the passenger side mirror, you look through the windshield. They do not work very well. You can get another driver side mirror, disassemble it and put the mirror on the other side of the bracket and bolt it on.

Q: How much do you think a non running, body rusted 1978 Jeep CJ 5 is worth?
Tires only have about 2000 miles on them, new gauges, accessories like bug deflector, rock guards, the frame is in decent shape not really rusted that much.
A: Depends on the person wanting to buy it. Value is a strange thing. You will find some people will pay lots of cash for anything and some people will try to get it for nothing. Value depends on what someone is willing to pay.
I just bought a 1982 CJ5 for $100 USD, Monday. Sure it needs work but the only rust on it is just surface rust. The person I bought it from wanted $300. I got a good deal cause the person was in need of cash.
