Q: how can i get a 1993 honda accord lx faster without putting a turbo in it?
i have a 1993 honda accord lx and i put in a ram intake and i want it to go faster without putting a turbo what can i put in to make it go faster?
A: body kit. you need the body kit, exhaust for that loud sound so that everyone can hear you.
Q: 1993 Honda Accord is making a clicking noise in the right front wheel where do I start?
A: TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.
HAVE THEM LOOK AT BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE CV JOINTS AND AXLES.
IF CV JOINTS ARE BAD IT WILL BE CHEAPER AND BETTER JUST TO HAVE THE COMPLETE AXLE REPLACED.
Q: 1993 honda accord with 160 k, my clutch pedal does not come up when i try to start up. Why does this happen?
Just had the master cylinder of the clutch replaced. The pedal does not come back up while driving, also. So i have to keep pumping it.
A: There is still air in the system. I have found that some hydraulic clutches require you to do the pumping by hand instead of foot that way you can pull the clutch pedal back to the top of its travel each time.
Q: Starting problem with a 1993 Honda Accord?
My son's Honda wont start more than a few seconds. The main relay switch has been changed, the fuel pump is working, the battery & alternator are fine. The car will start and then completely cut off and then he has to wait about 10 or 15 minutes before the engine will turn over again, but just to die again. Should the next thing we change be the ignition coil?
Oh yeah, the distribuator has also been changed.
A: It seems you have already taken the most likely cause taken care of (main relay).
The next thing to check should be the Cam timing. if someone inexperienced changed the timing belt or the timing belt has somehow jumped 3 teeth, it may cause this problem.
Q: How do I remove the front rotors on a 1993 Honda Accord?
I am having trouble figuring out how to remove the rotors on this car. I took the 4 14mm bolts in the center of the rotor and i took the axle nut off as well. What else do i need to remove to get the rotor off? Is there any step by step guides?
Thanks!
A: there probably just siezed... take a hammer and tap them free most likely theres a rust buildup?
Q: why does my 1993 honda accord stall when the engine is cold?
only when motor is cold, when motor is warm it runs fine. known problems with the car include broken motor mounts and an oil leak somewhere...all the sensors are fine (o2, iac, pcv valve etc) taken to the dealership and they just replaced pcv valve and hose but still having idling trouble.
A: When cold the idle is supposed to be increased by the thermo-lift valve, also known as the cold idle valve or fast idle valve. It is mounted on the front side of the throttle body, and is recognizable by the two coolant hoses going to it. The valve can be removed (although the hoses can be left on it) and cleaned with carburetor cleaner, and you can then easily clean out the passages that go to it.
Q: How do you change rear rotors on a 1993 Honda accord?
i have the caliper off and removed the two screws securing it, but now it doesn't want to slide off. the caliper bracket is in my way but i am hesitant to remove it. any ideas?
A: repair manual, or try giving the rotor a tap with a black of wood. They may be rusted fast.
Q: What parts do I need for tune up on a 1993 Honda Accord?
It has about 398,000 miles on it. I was given the car and it runs great. I just had the oil and oil filter change. It's fairly old and I want to keep it running for a while longer.
A: What is the mileage? I agree that the fluids and filters should all be replaced. Depending on the mileage you might want to replace the timing belt.
Edit:
1. Replace coolant (at 75,000 miles and 105,000 miles)
2. Parking brake adjustment (every 15,000 miles)
3. Rotate tires (every 7,500 miles)
4. Replace transmission fluid (at 90,000 miles)
5. Replace brake fluid (at 90,000 miles)
6. Replace timing belt and balancer belt (at 105,000 miles)
7. Check / adjust idle speed (at 105,000 miles) - should be 650 rpm + or - 50 rpm
Also:
1. Inspect / replace as needed drive belts
2. Replace spark plugs
3. Replace air filter
4. Replace A/C filter
Since you are almost at 400k miles, you should probably do all of this.
Q: I have a 1993 Honda Accord it doesnt want to start?
my car is pretty old but i've takend care of it, I do the maintenance every 3000 miles, this summer it started acting up when the weather started to get hot, and now it doesnt want to start, i'm a girl and taking it to the shop gets pretty expensive, any car experts out there? oh and when I try to turn it on the light for when you put it on drive (D) flashes. I also tried to run some cables thinking it was the battery and still didnt turn on, fuel pump?
A: If the car is cranking... battery is ok.
If the car starts after cooling down (open windows), a relay need to be fixed or replaced. It is very common for Honda Accords. The relay/switch new cost about $70. But, it can be repair by just soldering. No sure about labor charges.

Q: I have a 1993 Honda Accord, why does the radio say code when I turn it on?
I got a 93 Honda Accord about a month ago and when I go to turn on the radio it says code on the screen. I know its not a fuse cuz it turns on and the antenna comes up. Anybody I've asked so far says they have no idea what could be wrong. If anyone has any answers please let me know. Thanks
A: The dealership will more than likely need to pull out your stereo inorder to get the stereo code. You may ask who you bought the car from if they know, or look in the dealer booklet that normally is kept in the glove compartment. After entering the wrong code normally 4 digits you will need to give it a cooling off period so don't just start trying codes. Use the dealership at last resort cause $$ have your husband or boyfriend or yourself remove the stereo and call the local Honda dealership parts dept tell them numbers on back of stereo and should be able to get that code. Then write the code down somewhere you know not in the car so that when you change batteries you can set the code yourself.

Q: need help figuring out a/c bypass on 1993 honda accord?
does anyone know where i can find a belt that will bypass my a/c unit on my 1993 honda accord. the a/c bearings are shot and i need to just make it so it doesn't turn.
A: Check NAPA Online to see if one is available for your Honda, they do have them for most late model cars. You do need to know your engine size.
Q: Tips for replacing an engine 1993 Honda Accord?
My engine has a lot of miles on it and I was wondering about the possibly of buying a used engine. From what some mechanics were telling me it seems like I could just buy a used engine for cheaper than fixing mine. Any tips on possible costs, ie installation. I don't know what a good price is, what model of engine or where a good place to buy a used engine is. I live in Frederick Maryland.
A: In some cases, the cost of replacing an engine with a used one is getting the same problem you just fixed. You don't the miles on the engine you buy. If you are planning on keeping the car, and the body etc, is in good shape opt for a factory rebuilt engine. You can exchange just the block and have your heads reworked or exchange the entire engine. Some shops will give you a huge discount on the labor cost of replacing the engine if you buy from them. That way you will have longer warranty with the engine in most cases.
Q: Why is my 1993 Honda accord's radiator water level dropping?
I have to top up the water in the radiator every morning, while i noticed the water in the reservoir/expansion bottle is increasing.
A: The radiator cap allow for expansion of the water when the car warms up. That water goes past the radiator cap, through the overflow tube and is stored in the overflow can until the car cools down. If the cap is weak or the hose between the two is leaking/loose clamps, then the water can't get sucked back. The absolute worst problem you can have is a bad head gasket, but unless the car overheats easily, that's unlikely
