Q: does the 2006 ford fusion have the extra cargo space?
I am hoping to get a 2006 ford fusion I4s on friday and was wondering if anyone knew if it has the fold down seats in the back for extra cargo space?

A: yes the rear seats fold down.. you're lucky, the Fusion is an awesome car. I had one as a rental when my car got hit and was getting fixed, and my Fusion was so nice. I was really impressed.

A: Being an 06, your vehicle might not be equipped with an auxiliary input jack (ipod jack). Unfortunately, Fusions built before Sept. 4, 2006 weren't equipped with AIJs, so the only alternative for you is a power point (cigarette lighter) adapter. You can look at the vehicle certification label on the driver's door jamb to obtain the month and year your Fusion was built. If it is equipped, it would be in the centre console and you probably would have seen it. Sorry.

Q: Does anyon know where to get a front lip for a 2006 Ford Fusion?
Do they make more than one kind? The only one I've seen is the Duratec racing type. Are there any other kinds? Are generic front lips being made for various cars that could fit the Fusion? Please, HELP!!! I need it more for protecting my car rather than appearance. I used to drive an Explorer and I'm trying to get used to driving a car, so I'd like to get as much protection for the body of the car as possible.

A: batteries are not year-specific to cars. That's why you can walk into any parts store in the country and get a battery for pretty much any car. As long as the cold cranking amps on the battery are what the owner's manual calls for, it's fine.

Q: What type of fluid does a 2006 Ford Fusion with a 4-speed manual transmssion use and how much?
I would like to use a quality performance synthetic like Amsoil or Redline and I would like to know what the specs and capacity is for this manual transmission. Thank you. Yes, I mean five-speed I-4 manual transmission.

A: You mean 5 speed hopefully, or else ford has really fallen off the boat! For specs and capacity, look in your manual. Amsoil makes a great gear oil, I used them in my toyota and my honda, both times it made the car shift like new.

Q: Loud noise when I turn my steering wheel on 2006 Ford Fusion?
My 2006 Ford Fusion makes a loud, hidious, noise when I turn my weels, even in the slightest. Hard to explain the noise but when it's colder outside it doesn't make it and when it gets hot outside, then it gets worse like something is expanding and contracting with the temperature outside. Anytime my tire's move that noise is made. BTW it is a front wheel drive. Anyone know what the problem is??

A: have you checked the power steering fluid level? the screw clamp could have come loose and allowed the fluid to drain out. there is a TSB for the 06 fusion for noises while turning. "ISSUE: Some 2006 Zephyr, 2007-2009 MKZ, 2006-2009 Fusion and Milan vehicles built before 8/5/2008, may exhibit a popping, rubbing, grunting, squeaking, crunching or creaking type noise from the front strut mount when going over bumps, while driving at 1-10 MPH (1-16 Km/h) and/or during parking lot maneuvers. Typically, the noise is heard in the front outboard wheel while turning at low speeds. This noise may be caused by the jounce bumper rubbing against the dry strut plate. ACTION: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition." just take your car to the dealer. they can do the TSB for you and/or tell you what is wrong with the steering. good luck

Q: How much would it cost to replace the front bumper of a 2006 Ford Fusion?
I recently purchased my car and I of course got in a fender bender with a truck. Their trailer hitch went right into my front bumper putting a hole and crack in my bumper. What do you think it might cost to replace it?

A: Be prepared to pay at least $600.00. The entire bumper will have to be replaced and then painted to match your car, and that's not cheap. You may be able to save money with a reputable mom-and-pop collision shop in your area. Avoid the dealerships -- they charge top-dollar and do crappy work.

I have a 2006 ford fusion ie4, I hit a curb on the drivers side the wheel is now turn a 1/4 turn to the left when the wheels are straight. I have looked at the suspention nothing other than the rim is bent that I can see. A-Arms, ball joints, tie rods, all look good, is there somthing that I might have missed? Or should I just throw a new rim on and get an alignmnet?

A: sway bar end link did you lift the front of the car off the ground and check for loose parts, usually when it is bent it is loose.

I got to the beach a lot, I always see people get stuck in the sand. Luckily it has never happened to me. My boyfriend has a dodge truck and always helps people out by attaching straps to peoples cars to pull them out. where would I put the tow straps on the fusion ... I wouldn't think they could go up front anywhere because the front grill is so low to the ground. So ... where?

I dont want to mesh shit up. I have been looking at cruthfield and looks like they make it pretty simply.

A: Crutchfield is by far the best in the business. Follow their website to make sure the player that you are getting will fit. Get the installation and wiring from them too. I would not go your way. I would set up for iPod and MP3 instead. Better way to go.

A: Complete instructions with diagrams are shown in your owners manual pages 46-7. *******Copy******************* Replacing tail/brake/turn signal/backup lamp bulbs The tail/brake/turn signal and backup lamp bulbs are located in the tail lamp assembly. Follow the same steps to replace either bulb. 1. Make sure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position and open the trunk. 2. Lift out trunk floor carpeting panel to access a Luggage Scuff Plate (Hard Molding) shingles and a Trunk Side Panel (dark grey, soft wheelhouse side trim panel) at the lamp area. 3. Carefully pull/push the Trunk Side Panel (dark grey, soft wheelhouse side trim panel) outboard to expose the lamp assembly. The most effective point to grasp the Trunk Side Panel when pulling it out from the Luggage Scuff Plate is at it’s bottom edge where that edge meets the exposed sheet metal of the trunk floor. Note: Do not allow the Trunk Side Panel to remain bent and untucked from the Luggage Scuff Plate (hard molding) for a long period of time. Doing so may result in permanent deformation. 4. Remove the bulb socket by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it straight out. 5. Pull the bulb from the socket and push in the new bulb. 6. Install the bulb socket into the lamp assembly by rotating it clockwise. 7. Carefully push the Trunk Side Panel (dark grey, soft wheelhouse side trim panel) back to the shingle position to the Luggage Scuff Plate (hard molding). 8. Install trunk floor carpeting panel. ******End Copy********* You CAN do it yourself. Just follow ^these instructions. I hope this helps ;-)
