Q: What is the best way to get stains out of an 2006 Ford Escape seats?
Hey, I have an 2006 ford escape and my sister has gotten, pop, water, ect. on my seats. I don't know how to get the stains out, because these seats stain very badly, and I'am afraid to put soap, and water on the seats, because that may stain them even more? please help if you have any Ideas. or somthing that might help me!! thanks a bunch!

A: Try "Woolite Oxy Deep". It is made for carpet, but it works so well that I also use it on my upholstery and tough laundry stains. It has gotten out chili and leftover purple candle dye from my carpets and barbecue sauce and jelly and soda from my couch and just about everything else from the laundry. Just follow the directions and test in an inconspicuous place first to be sure it is safe for the fabric. I have never had a problem with it ruining any fabric, but it has gotten out plenty of messes that I thought would be there forever!!! Good luck to you, hope you find something that works for you too!

Q: How do I open gas tank on a 2006 Ford Escape?
I just bought a 2006 Ford Escape and I can't figure out how to open the gas tank. Help Sorry I should have said that I'm having trouble figuring out how to open the fuel door.

A: Most cars have a lever that is located either on the driver's door jamb, or in between the driver's seat and the driver's door; you will see a picture of a gas tank on the lever, indicating that this is the gas lever. If you can't seem to find the lever, then try going over to the gas tank yourself; some cars have a raised corner on the door of the gas tank, where you simply insert your finger, and pull it toward you to open the tank.

Q: What navigation discs will work with the Ford Escape 2006?
The first disc (CA, NV, HI) is broken to the set of CDs, and Navteq won't replace one disc - they require you to buy a whole new set for $200. I see newer dvds on Ebay, however they are just one disc for the entire North America map. Will this work on a 2006 Ford Escape? The cd is said to come with a 2007 Ford Escape model.

A: I think the difference is you have cds (think less data per disk) and 07 is dvd based (all on one disk)... Most of the older Navigations had to have many cds for the map information whereas the 07 used one DVD that stays installed in the player at all times. They are wanting you to buy the whole set as the older disc you have is probably no longer available .. but yeah it sucks they don't want to sell you what you need. But you are kind of limited to EBAY and other sites for cds like that..Sorry

Q: How do you program a key FOB (Keyless Entry Remote) for a 2006 Ford Escape?
I need to know how to program a key FOB for a 2006 Ford Escape. Can you tell me? Thanks! I got instructions on how to do it, but I lost them before I did it.

A: 1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. 2. Within 20 seconds press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. 3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. 4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Q: Engine light on on 2006 ford escape?
I have a 2006 Ford Escape, 30,000 miles on it, I hit a piece of tire going down the interstate, the engine light came on 2 months later. Now the engine light will blink, car will shake a little, and also there is a muffled "blum blum" sound (like the sound of a subwoofer) when it is idle. I just recently took it on a 1500 mile trip pulling a uhaul. What could be wrong with my car?

A: ANYTIME you have a BLINKING "Check Engine" light, it means the PCM has detected a class 'A' type misfire. This is completely consistent with the symptom you describe about the car "shaking". A class 'A' type misfire is one that WILL damage your catalytic converter if it's not repaired in a timely manner. Being a 2006 with 30,000 miles, you should bring it into your local Ford dealer AT ONCE, since it's still within your 3/36 warranty. Do not bring it to Auto Zone or any of those places where they offer you those services to connect those cheesy $40 code readers to tell you the code. These kind of people will try to sell you parts that your car doesn't need. You are far better off bringing it to the Ford dealer where they will run an EEC test. This test will lead to having your car repaired far quicker than any of those independent places where all they will do is take your money. Hope this helps.

Q: how do i break into my 2006 ford escape?
I locked my only set of keys that I can find in my ford escape. Any Idea how I can break in?

A: Call a tow truck. They'll get you in! They handle "lock-outs" every day.

Q: Looking for WORTHWHILE 2006 Ford Escape suspension upgrade recommendations?
Hi, A few times a week I carry car loads in the ~1,000-1,200 pound range. Now there's a road construction project going on near me and it's sceduled to last for 2-3 years. I now find my Escape bouncing quite a bit as I encounter new construction related bumps and stuff. I'm worried that my suspension is now taking a beating and that the extra wear might end up causing me additional car related problems down the road. I'm wondering if I should consider some sort of suspension upgrade or simply replace original stuff more frequently. FYI: I don't know anything about car and suspensions so I'm not sure how to approach the issue intellegently? Anyone have some WORTHWHILE comments, tips, suggestions? FYI: I'm not looking to make a monster truck or to invest multiple thousands of dollars and I do realize that simply slowing down can help the situation for free. Thanks to those who choose to help.

A: Hmmm... it seems u have spend alot of time thinking about this. well, let me but it simple: suspension "upgrade" is an upgrade and most upgrades help the cause. go ahead and do it but make sure you do it right. If u dont know how to do it right, get professional help. but start the process when u are sure about every step u have to do to get it done right, Good Luck

Q: i have a 2006 ford escape what will and air intake do for it?
what will an air intake do for my 2006 ford escape? what does and air intake do any ways?

A: You may gain 5 hp, if you are lucky. Should have bought a F-150 then fix it up. An air intake, increases air flow, which in turn is suppose to give you more power..

Q: How do you fix an automatically adjusting rear view mirror in a 2006 ford escape?
my moms rear view mirror in her ford escape is stuck in "night mode"

A: my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop..

Q: 2006 Ford Escape has been having electrical problems. What could it be?
An example of the problems is the car would die randomly. It would also cause the alarm and locks to go on randomly. Ford has been unable to help.

A: From the other two answers I've read, you're not getting very far with your problem are you Austin. I would suggest two things. First you have to find someone who has had this problem before and those people reside at the Ford Dealership. Take it to another Ford Dealership, its like rollin the Dice. The other thing I keep recommending to people is the alldata.com. This site costs a yearly fee but you can find problems, recalls and the like. Good luck

Q: I'm buying a 2006 Ford escape with 43k. I can't find anything about when (or if) the timimg belt needs to be ?
I'm buying a 2006 Ford escape xls w/43k. I can't find anything about when (or if) the timimg belt needs to be replaced. Thanks

A: As posted above, if it has a 3.0L Duratec V6 engine, it does NOT have a timing belt. It has two timing CHAINS, which do not require replacement. Even if it has the 4 cylinder engine, it still uses a timing chain in 2006 model year. I believe 2004 was the last model year for the 2.0L Zetec engine which uses a timing belt. From 2005 on, the 2.3L Duratec 4 cylinder replaced the Zetec as the base engine. Hope this helps.

Q: 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid Power Door Lock Problems?
I recently replaced the car battery of my 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid and now the power door locks are not fully functioning. The key fob will lock all the doors, however the fob will unlock the passenger doors and not the driver's door. The same problem is with the inside switch, it will lock all the doors, but will not unlock the driver's door, just the three passenger doors. I have read the manual and cannot figure the problem out and would appreciate any assistance or advice.

A: You probably need to replace the door lock actuator in your driver door. Let me clarify..What the lock actuator is, a little device with a peg. The car tells the peg when to activate, that little peg fits in a slot/hole that controls the unlock and lock feature of the latch mechanism.

Q: Can i replace the ABS calibration ring on my 2006 Ford Escape on its own or do i need a whole new front axle?
I have an 06 Escape and the ABS calibration ring is cracked. My ABS is not functioning because of it. Is this a part I can get on its own or is it made as part of the front axle?

A: you can buy it single, but for it to be installed will cost you more than you would pay for an axle. youre looking at about a 500-800 dollar fix good luck

Q: 2006 Ford Escape tailgate open sensor location and how to bypass?
I would like to temporarily fool it to think the tailgate is closed so when I am at the drive-in's with the tailgate open the map lights are off. Where is the tailgate door sensor and is there a way to make it think its closed? Thanks for your help!

A: The sensor is Incorporated in the locking mechanism. The easiest way to fool it is to take a screwdriver and push the mechanism closed. Basically, use the screwdriver to act as if the nader bolt is engaged. Problem solved. Just remember that before you shut the tailgate you need to reopen the latch as if opening the door.

Q: Where is the keyless entry code for 2006 Ford Escape hidden?
Where in the car can i find it- i've looked under the drivers seat and no luck.

A: Inside the owners manual or inside the module If the card that came with the vehicle from Ford is not in the vehicle, only way to get the code is using a scan tool as the code is not on the module like it is on some others if I remember.. if not the module is hidden to the point that you will wish you would have payed the money, but if I remember it became part of the fuse box assembly in 2005 and is no longer written on the module Also no way to erase the code except change the module.. you can add a code but can't erase the original
