Q: How much would a paint job cost on a 2000 ford focus?
Unfortunately I just got a 2000 Ford Focus. I like the car but the color is a VERY light blue. I hate the color and Im in need of a paint job. I tried calling around but for some reason no one wants to speak prices over the phone. If anyone got a paint job before please let me know the price range. Thanks.
A: There is a wide range here, it could be a few hundred dollars up to several thousand, if just depends on if you are going to get it painted with no body work, if you are changing the color then you have to decide if you want to pay more to have the door jams changed as well. Most cheap paint jobs will only spray the outside of the vehicle and will typically not include anytype of major prep. e.g. filling dents or rust repair. .
Q: How do I change the clutch slave cylinder in a 2000 Ford Focus?
I need to change the slave cylinder on a 2000 Ford Focus and normally these things are accessible from the engine bay or beneath the car but in this case it appears to be inside the bell housing. Is there a way to change this without pulling the transmission out? Any help here would save me a lot of time.

A: Concentric mounted slave cylinders are the rage nowadays. I've had to pull the 6-speed out of my Z-28 twice now for slave cylinder issues.

Q: 2000 Ford Focus Wagon Brake Pedal Makes Noise When Releasing?
I own a 2000 Ford Focus Wagon. Just recently I noticed that when I release my foot on the brake pedal it makes a noise, its like the noise that you hear when you open a jewelry box its makes this creaking noise. I just bought this car in 2006, could it be time to change the brakes? I haven't heard the screaching noise yet. Any answers that you can provide will be great! Thanks.
A: probably the sounds came from the front brakes where the calipers are. the calipers has two small cylinders where calipers move on when the years pass those cylinders are out of lubrication and then they freeze making the caliper piston don't apply properly on the brake pads
there is a caliper repair kit that includes those cylinders I'm talking about and is more cheaper than replace the whole caliper
and other thing can be the brake pads needs some pins and small stuff (don't know the name in English) so pads will stay there with no play
Q: 2000 ford focus cannot remove air filter?
I have a 2000 focus with a stalling issue so I am trying to some routine things to see if that helps before I bite the bullet and go to the shop. My problem is I tried to remove the air filter and I cannot get the cover off of the box it is in. Apparently, the screws are rusted into the circular "nuts" that hold the cover in place. Any idea's on how to get them loose?
I tried WD40 multiple times, any other suggestion?

I have a 2000 Ford Focus and it has the alarm options on the key chain. I can make the alarm sound by pressing the red alarm button and if I hold down the 'lock' button the alarm chirps once, but I can try and open the doors and push the car and the alarm doesn't sound - any idea what I'm doing wrong??
A: you have a passive alarm. It's not a real alarm. The red button is a panick button to use if your being attacked in a parking lot. The chirps are so you know the car recieved the signal and either locked or unlocked the doors (you can hear it).

I own a 2000 Ford Focus, and recently the check engine light started to come on and its giving the code engine too lean. Well, thus far my dad and I have been working on it. We've replaced both oxygen sensors, the gas cap, and the air filter. My dad cleaned the mass air flow sensor, and checked the car for vaccum leaks. None of this has been sucessful in fixing it. Any suggestions? Websites with information would be very helpful, and just for the record I do not trust any of the mechanics where I live. When they see a girl come in with a problem, they try to screw her out of every dollar she has.
I neglected to mention that the computer was reset after every part was replaced, to no avail. The light comes back on after a few days.
A: The first thing, after all you have done is to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail There is a Schrader ( looks like a tire valve stem) valve for pressure with the engine running. Check with your local library for a Ford manual for the proper pressure. I think it should be 35#. If the fuel pressure is good, it might be a good idea to change the filter. (fuel) If the pressure is ok clean the MAF sensor. Do it gently. Can be damaged by rough handling. This should give a code all it's own..Is it idling rough??If it is remove and clean or replace the EGR valve..The MAF sensor is the main control for fuel. It sends info to the computer measuring the air flow. It measures the air and the computer sends a signal to the injectors for a specific amount of fuel for the air flow..The Oxygen sensor fine tunes the fuel to a more finite condition...........MAF Mass air flow sensor..EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculating valve...........Did your Dad reset the computer???If not it can be done, on a Ford, by removing the battery cable for a few minutes.....Hope I am some help.!

My 2000 Ford Focus SE recently developed this problem, where I'm driving on the highway when suddenly the speedometer drops to zero while simultaneously the radio volume goes really low. Normally it lasts for a few seconds, then the speedometer just as suddenly reverts to normal, as does the radio. I looked around and found that this problem is often related to the speed sensor. I had that checked by the dealer, as well as the wiring to the instrument cluster and radio, and they can't find the source of the problem. What else could it be?

A: i had the same problem in 1998 maxima, theres a sensor in it, i dont know the name, but it needs to be cleaned, just ask any mechanic and tell him to clean it, dont let them rob you buy changing other stuff

A: I don't own a Focus but I do know alot about cars. If there is a CD button and there is no slot to insert a cd, then the button is for the optional cd player or changer(WAY TOO EXPENSIVE) that Ford offers. With the optional unit installed, you turn on the radio, load your cd/s, and press the CD button on the radio. The radio will then change to the CD source. Sometimes factory radios are actually made by a manufacturer that makes aftermarket radios. Therefore they may be compatible with an aftermarket CD changer from that same manufacturer. For example, Honda radios are compatible with Alpine. Toyota radios are made by Fujitsu Ten which also makes Eclipse aftermarket audio. Subaru radios are made by Matsushita(Panasonic). Porche radios are(or were) usually made by Blaupunkt. Find out if your factory Ford radio is compatible with an aftermarket CD changer and go that route if you want to keep the factory radio but still have CD playing capability. Good luck.
