Q: How many lugs are there on a 1995 Ford Ranger?
I am looking to buy a 1995 Ford Ranger and I want to put some off road 4x4 tires on it and was wondering how many lugs are there.

A: There are 5 but if your looking at changing wheels you need to look at what the lug pattern is on it. this is gonna be the spacing between the holes. Although it has 5 lugs ford, jeep, chevy, 5 lugs are all different.

Q: Hydraulic Clutch Problems on a 1995 Ford Ranger?
I have a 1995 Ford ranger 2.4 C.I. 4 cyl. with a hydraulic Clutch it has been slowly leaking brake fluid. usually i put more fluid in and it works fine. now it wont do into gear how do i bleed it and how do i find the leak?

A: The slave cylinder is inside the bellhousing behind the release bearing. You will find a bleeder screw on the left side of the transmission bellhousing near where the hard plastic hose goes in. You will need to have someone push the clutch while you have the screw open, and hold it untill you tighten the screw. Repeat this process a few times making sure the reservoir does not go empty during the process. If fluid is leaking from inside the bellhousing and dripping out the front, that means you need a new slave cylinder. Unfoortunately you have to remove the transmission to perform that repair. Good Luck!

Q: How do you tell what front brake part is going bad in a 1995 ford Ranger XLT?
My 95 Ford Ranger Xlt 4x2 just started to make a wierd noise when braking and the brakes feel like they are grinding while driving, how do I tell which part is going bad? This is the front end. I have new pads to put on it but am trying to make sure that I get it all done right. The truck still stops great but that may be because of the rear brakes which are newer.

A: if your truck is grinding while you are stopping, check out the rotors , they should be smooth on both sides if one of them is not (ie: having gouges in the face of one side or the other or both ) you should replace the rotor. i would check the thickness of rotors as well remember one thing when replacing the brake pads always get the glazing off of the rotors before installing the new pads this is done so that the new pads seat into the rotors causing better braking one other thing check for leaks around caliper pistons, broken rubber boots (if you have not done a replacement of calipers i would think of replacing them) also check hoses for cracking.

A: They should as it's basically the same cluster Most rangers have the tach wire there, it's the cluster that decides if the customer sees it or not

Q: 1995 Ford Ranger how many axle splines?
I have a 1995 Ford Ranger and I'm buying new Warn hubs, but I don't know how many splines my axle has?

A: there are only 2 possibilities that i know of. the most common is the 28 spline axles but there is also a 31 spline axle that was optional in 95. i need to know the axle code stamped on the the tag that is bolted to the differential cover to give you a definitive answer. EDIT you might find what you're looking for here: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Axles.html

Q: I am trying to find a 1995 Ford Ranger, left inside door panel. Does anyone know how I could find one?
I have tried ebay and it seems that no one is trying to sell it. Is it possible that I could order the part from Ford?

A: You could also search craigslist.com for your area and type FORD RANGER in the search box. Often times there's an individual trying to part one out. Just a thought. Also, try joining one of the sites below. There's always somebody selling parts on them.

Q: 1995 ford ranger 4x4 lights flash six times about once a minute, what is it?
1995 regular cab, 4x4, manual trans, shift on the fly, 96K miles. My locking hubs stopped locking last year one at a time. I have'nt got around to changing them over to manuals yet. I don't think that is the problem because the transfer case would still go into 4xhi and low but the hubs would not lock up. Driving down the freeway I noticed that the 4xhi and 4xlow lights were flasjhing together six times about once every 60 seconds. The transfer case will not go into 4xhi or 4xlow. The truck still drives the same under normal driving. This just started today. I haven't got under the truck yet to check things out. No I WILL NOT BE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER to get it checked out. The dealer will probably charge me more than what it is worth. Is it the transfer case motor stuck in an inbetween postion? Is the transfer case low on fluid? Is there something else going on that I don't know about?

A: I had a Ranger with the same problem and it was the wiring between the switch and the transfer case motor. Have your tech trace the wiring for corroded or broken spots and that should fix it.

Q: 1995 Ford Ranger Check Engine Light Problem?
I have a 1995 Ford Ranger with 172,000 miles and the engine light is on i took it for diagnostics and no problems they turned it off and it came on i gain i did the battery cable trick, and i comes back on after driving for like 3 hours. Can somebody tell me what is up? Probably a fuse or something? I want a mechanic to tell me or someone experienced please thanks. Forgot to say that the EGR Value has been replaced clyinoyds however you spell it and i think a Oxygen Sencer

A: The truck computer is finding an intermittant problem. Try having a trouble code reader plugged in to catch what the problem is. Burnt out fuses are easy to find. The computer should find that. Loose connections, bad wires, and bad sensors are more likely. Some intermittant problems are very hard to find. They all most never happen when the mechanic is looking for them. That is why it may be necessary to leave the scanner on longer to find the problem.

Q: How do i install dual illiminite speakers into my 1995 Ford Ranger?
I just bought these and they are awesome. I also have a radio with the same light color. I kinda know how to hook up the audio but a little advice bout that to would help alot. Thanks.

A: I remember those Ranger days. I've had two 93' and 01 edge. The speakers in the rear are easy...four screws and the grill comes off...another four and the speaker comes of. Pull out the speaker and detach the wire. Now you might have to cut the stock connector...to connect your speakers, just remember, ones positive ones negative. Been a while since I did the front...can't remember how many screws are in the door panels. But it's fairly the same thing once you remove the panel and backing...four screws and your speakers are out.

Q: How to fix a dashboard light on 1995 Ford Ranger?
The lights on my dashboard for my gas gage and battery gage don't work. Does anyone know how to fix them? Or is there a good website that has some forums or something where I can find out how to fix them? Also I am not sure that the engine temperature gage is working properly, so I may need to fix that as well. Thanks.

A: You will need to pull the instrument cluster out to replace the bulbs and for the temperature check the sender,,,,,,,,

Q: 1995 Ford Ranger Transmisson Problem?
I have a 1995 ford ranger 2.3 - 5 speed. The problem I'm having is this. After the truck is driven a couple miles or so, my clutch will not disenage when the clutch pedal is press. Therefore i can not put the truck into any gear. If I let it sit awhile the problems goes away. Or if i bleed the slave cylinder the problem goes away until if drive for a little while. I think that slave cylinder is bad (leaking) but i am not sure. If the slave cylinder is bad will i have to disconnect the bell housing to change it.

A: Are you 100% sure that the slave cylinder is leaking? Here is what my manual shows as steps for replacing: Using coupling disconnect tool No. T88T-70522-A or equivalent, disconnect hydraulic coupling at transmission by sliding white plastic sleeve toward clutch slave cylinder while tugging on tube. Remove transmission. Remove clutch housing to transmission attaching bolts, then separate clutch housing from transmission. Remove slave cylinder from transmission input shaft. check all the lines and the clutch master cyclinder. If you are indeed going to do the slave cylinder I would HIGHLY recommend replacing the clutch pad, pressure plate and throwout bearing at the same time. As long as you have to drop the transmission out. Unless those are almost new we always recommend replacement to save on labor or pulling the transmission later to replace them. And they are not overly exspensive. Good luck
