Q: What should i write on the Ford Modeling online application?
I have some idea about this question: Tell us all about yourself, especially why you want to be a Ford. I know what to write about myself, but can anyone give me any feedback on the second half of the question?

A: Look at the Ford Models entry on wikipedia and find a few models listed that you like. Then say that you really want to be with Ford because your favorite models, Model X and Model Y were with them.

Q: How do you partake in buying Stock in a company such as Ford?
Ford has had it's up's and downs. If you were to have bough shares just over a year ago you would have increased your investment by nearly 16 times. I have a feeling that Ford's stock is relatively steady and is going to be on the rise soon. If not Ford, I have a good feeling KIA is about to get more popular! Where do I go to buy stocks? Do I have to see a stock broker?

A: Open an account online and wire transfer the money to fund the account. You're ready to go. http://www.onlinebrokerages.us/

Q: As American car companies are bringing back muscle cars, is Ford going to bringback the Torino?
Mustangs, Corvettes, Comaros, Challengers, and Chargers. As you notice Chevy and Dodge both have two 2010 models in production as the Mustang is holding its own for Ford. I want to know if Ford is planning on bringing back the Torino. By the way R.I.P. Pontiac, this country will forever miss the GTO.

A: The Taurus SHO is back for '10, but that's probably it for Dearborn speedsters.

Q: How difficult is it to install the Ford Racing Shaker system?
I'd like to get the shaker system from Ford Racing for my Mustang. It seems pretty simple. Obviously I would have to remove the non-functional hood scoop already on my car. I would imagine that I would have to also cut my hood or buy a different one?

A: You will need to cut your hood. If you are handy and pretty good with stuff like this you should have no problem doing it

Q: How to get engine codes off of 1995 Ford Contour without a scanner?

Q: How much would it cost for a Ford Dealer to install third row seat in 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8?
How much would it cost for a ford dealer to install third row seat in 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8? Also how would people get to the third row seat? Would you have to fold down the 2nd row seats? The second row seat are 60/40 split-folding 2nd row seat w/head restraints. Also what about reverse sensor, how much would that cost?

A: On installing the 3rd row seat, more than what you would want to spend. The passenger side seat would have to release and fold foward for someone to get to the 3rd row and if you do not have the slots in the rear for the 3rd row seat to fit in, it could get very expensive. On the reverse sensor, I would check at a auto parts store before dealing with the dealership. Most parts at the dealership are 150% higher than at a auto parts store, if the sensor is available through them.

Q: Is the Ford Fusion V6 a viable option for a loyal Honda Accord driver?
I currently lease a Honda Accord EXL V6 with Navi and my lease is coming to an end shortly. I have heard positive comments and reviews about the Ford Fusion. I wanted to get some opinions (pros and cons) about leaving Honda and going domestic. I am planning to test drive a Fusion next weekend. Has anyone else made the switch? What are the diffeences between the two cars? I like the price of the Fusion in comparison to the Honda.

A: Bob B is a fool. American cars are crap compared to Japanese cars - according to me, consumer reports and each car's resale value. An average American car will remain reliable and maintenance free until just over 100k miles whereas the average Japanese car (honda, toyota and subaru) will remain trouble free until about 200k miles. If you plan to lease that may not matter to you. I love cars and I wish I could honestly recommend American but there's just no way. The reason imports cost more is because they're worth more (tariffs don't explain resale value, you fools.) With Ford or GM it's a coin toss as to whether or not you get a good one. Chrysler is complete crap and so is everything they have made for the last 20 years. Honda, toyota and subaru make nice cars, every time. IDC about the toyota gas peddle thing either, it happens. However, one of the guys I work with just bought a brand new Ford Fusion Sport, black, and it is a nice looking car - if you only want to lease it would proly serve you fine.

Q: How do I Remove the roof headlining on my ford escort wagon?
I want to take the luggage rack off my 93 Ford Escort Wagon. Someone said I need to remove the roof headling to get at the bolts. How do I remove the roof headling?

A: To remove the rack you first have to remove all the inside door trim on every door, including the rear hatch. This will loosen the edges of the headliner near the doors. The A pillar and B pillar inside trim will also have to be removed. The sun visors will have to be removed along with the upper windshield trim. Once the headliner is out of the way you will see the nuts holding the rack in place. Be cautious with the long pieces that run from front to back. They are also attached with a very stiff glue and will snap in two very easily. Best to get one end started then run a stiff wire, like a guitar string under the piece to cut the glue loose. Clean out all the old glue before reinstalling the rack. Do not try to reuse it. Get all new adhesive.

Q: when did ford motor company start making a 390 with fuel injection?
I have a truck f-150 4x4 1/2ton 5spd manual transmission,1986. someone put a 390motor with fuel injection under the hood, what year did ford start making the 390 with fuel injection? are how can i tell what year the motor is?

A: these motors only came carbed. There are stamping numbers on the lower side of the block . Look where the frost plugs are, or by the tranny housing. I cant remember.... Might be a 9,10 or 11 digit number.. If its starts with a C, its 1960;s , D = 70;s. Second digit should be a number, thats the year.. So, C5 means 1965..D7 means 1977..etc

Q: How was the model t ford different from previous cars in the world?
How was the model t ford different from previous cars in the world? what made the model t ford better and different from previous cars and its competitors ? was it diffrent mechanically, its body etc?

A: They used an assembly line to make them, which meant they were more affordable. There were also more of them available for the same reason. A lot more of them. As in, cars became a regular mode of transportation because of the Model T. Only rich people had a chance to buy cars before, with the Model T middle class folks could buy a car. So for a lot of people, there weren't any competitors or previous cars--this was the first one that was available to them!

Q: What years did Ford change their 3 speed transmissions to the 4 speed on the floor?
I have a 292 in my '59 ford and i would like to know if the 3 speed manual on the steering column can be swapped for a later model 4 speed manual transmission or if it's better to just change the engine also.

A: That takes me back. When I got out of the hospital after having my tonsils and adenoids removed, my grandfather picked me up in his brand new 1958 Ford. Years later we inherited a 1960 Ford Fairlane (a full size car then) with 292 2-spd automatic from my grandfather's brother. At the time it was 10 years old with only 25,000 miles and my dad said probably never went over 25 mph. But as teen age boys, my brother and I blew the carbon out of it. From info I could find on 59 Fords "Transmission options were a three speed conventional drive with an overdrive option, Fordomatic Drive two speed automatic, overdrive, and the three speed Cruise-O-Matic Drive automatic." So I guess it depends if you want to keep it a period car. My brother's 38 Ford coupe had a 4 on the floor, but it also had a built Chevy 350 engine and Ford 9" rear end. The biggest Ford engine in 1959 was a 352 (which we had with Cruise-O-Matic in a 1962 9-passenger Country Squire wagon).

Q: What are the different options and accessories for the 1967 Ford Falcon?
My dad got me a 1967 Ford Falcon Futura Sports Coupe for me to fix up for my first car. It already has the 289 V8 and 3 speed on the column. I just want to know what I could do to make it more comfortable and be original at the same time. Thanks in advance

A: That is a great car to start with. I would make sure the suspension and brakes are in great shape and to update the ignition system with a Pertronix ignition system which would replace the points and condensor without changing anything else. Also anything you can do to a 67 68 Mustang you can do to your Falcon which is pretty much the same platform. You can put a nice set of wheels and tires on that car too. Nice rare car I hope you learn all you can and enjoy it. I added Dearborn Classic and Pertronix my first car was and still is a 1964 Galaxie 500 my dad got me for my birthday, we worked on it together.

Q: What type of sandpaper should I use on my 1963 Ford Fairlane?
I have a 1963 Ford Fairlane that i'm trying to redue myself. I need to know what type of sandpaper to use on the body to get some of the old paint off and then I need to know what to do after that?

A: id use some 150 to take the paint off and then use something in the 200's to smooth it out and then wet sand it with something like 1500 to make it really smooth then put it in primer and go from there.
