Q: 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins tranny model identification?
I need to know, preferably with a link to a reference that confirms your answer beyond doubt, what transmission model is used on a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins turbodiese, 6-speed manual.
The truck is a dooley, Laramie trim level.
A: There are 2 possibilities.
It's either the new Venture 5600 (NV5600) or the gertag G56
You can tell the difference by the shifter.
If reverse is away from the driver and towards the dash it's the NV5600.
If reverse is towards the driver and back towards the seat you've got the G56.
Both good transmissions but the NV5600 is easier to rebuild and parts are cheaper.

A: it really is cheaper and better to go to a salvage yard and buy one from them that is already set up as a limited slip differential,with the tools you would have to buy plus the parts you,d have three times what you could go out and buy one for,it makes more sense to buy one than to try an set one up,good luck.
Q: What headers should I put on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
I have a dodge ram 1500 5.7 liter V8 Hemi. Its the Laramie package. It has a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust with 3 inch tubing and a 4 inch rear side outlet. I want to put headers on and i wanted to see what you guys recommended for my truck.
one more question. Will I need to modify my exhaust to fit the long tube headers?
A: full length headers are easier to run the exhaust off of is the only difference,the shorty headers are the best but the hardest to modify an exhaust for,good luck.

A: You can either try to decipher the VIN code, or do this: Jack up one side of the rear end. Put the transmission in neutral. Try to rotate the tire. If it doesn't turn, you have the limited-slip differential.
Q: What kind of mpg are you getting from your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel?
And did and aftermarket K&N improve it much if you got one.
I'm thinking about buying one if the insurance isn't through the roof.
A: I just bought one, 2006 Auto 4x4 2500 Quad Cab running slight oversize tires (285-70-17 I think) and a Ranch Hand bumper hanging off the front. For tuning I am running an edge Juice witith Attitude.
I have only put 200 on it since I bought it, topped when purchased and again before putting it in the shop just to see and hand figured that I had only gotten15.8 mpg. That was off only a partial tank so that makes it more prone to errors than if I had run till the low fuel warning came on.
Also, my Torque converter wasgoing out. The new torque converter might be more efficent than my old on its last legs one so here's hopeing because I am very disapointed, I was expecting to get that while towing.
Also this was done with the Edge set on powerlevel 1

A: the best bang you,ll actually get for the amount of money you can spend is on a programmer,they give the most performance for the least amount of money,other than improving the exhaust on it a programmer would be the first thing i would add to it,good luck
Q: How to take cv axle shaft off of 2005 dodge ram?
Was wondering exactly how you take the cv axle shaft off of the pickup. I am talking about near the front diff. Any ideas?
A: I've only worked on GM/Vauxhall cars
but I am guessing you would need to remove the road wheels
remove track rod end
remove lower ball joint
knock out the cv shaft from the wheel hub until its out
turn wheel hub round and then you will have access to the driveshaft
remove CV boot
the CV axle is normally held in place to the driveshaft with a cir clip, just prize this out and the CV should fall off

A: there's other mods you can do to it besides add a super charger or a turbo charger to it,if you want to do that then go back to the old version of the hemi engine where you,ll really notice that amount of change on it,you can do other mods to it and still race with it if you want to ,but adding either one of those would be a waste of money on that engine,add nitrous to it if you want it to run good,that's an instant boost in horse power right there,good luck.

A: if you don't want a used one you can also get a new one from advance auto parts for it,but for the cost of new one i would go used,they only run about 50 bucks used,for the year of it though i wouldn't put a used one in it,i wont even put used parts on my 01 model truck,good luck.

A: I know EXACTLY what your problem is. There is a TSB(technical service bulletin) on this from Dodge and I've personally seen 3 of them now.
The hinge on the fresh air/recirculate blend door breaks and the whole door falls on the opening and blocks off the blower motor. It's like 4"x6".
Take it to the dealer and hope it's still covered because it's sort of a major repair. The dash has to come out so the HVAC box can be removed to replace/repair it.
Try and get your $400 back. Any reputable shop should give you your money back if they didn't fix the original problem.
