im planning on getting the chevy colorado extreme.im just wondering would it be good if i wait till the 8 cyl engine comes out for it next year or is the 5 cyl good enough.i heard they had head problems with the 5 cyl but im sure they have that fixed by now.and 2nd whihc tranny woudl you prefer the auto or 5 spd im more of a manual guy but i dont know if theres problems with the 5 spd tranny or not.and for those that think id be better of going with a toyota or sumthing that foreign for get i wont support these foreign companys afters all when you buy a toyota even though you buy the car over here were does the money go to the main office and guess were that is china ir where every the toyota place is.gm all the way

Q: How can a 2004 Chevy Colorado get broken into without setting off the factory alarm?!?
My dad drives a 2004 Chevy Colorado and when he comes home each night he sets the factory alarm and locks the doors. Last night some a hole broke into his truck without setting off the alarm, and I was just wondering how this is possible? Maybe the guy is a professional mechanic or works for AAA? Can someone please help me?

I have a Chevy Colorado extended cab and i would like to tint the windows. I need to tint the 2 side windows, the 2 small windows in the back, and the back glass. I dont really have any idea how much that will cost but i think it will be somewhere over a hundred bucks. I would like a pretty dark tint if that helps any.

A: A good job will cost about $120-$150. The darkness of the tint shouldn't cost more. 20% tint is good because it is dark enough to make it so people can't see you, but not too dark to be dangerous for you to see out. Make sure you make sure there are no laws in your state about tinting windows in the front, as some states to not permit it. If you live in Illinois, Colorado, New Jersey, New Hampshire, or Vermont, I would definitely not go darker than 35% or you will get a ticket eventually from some cop with nothing better to do. If you live in Chicago, let me know and I can recommend a place for you that will cost about $135

A: Salvage yard. Truck should have wiring in it already. Check and see how much different the door panels are with the electric switches.

A: There are many things you can do to change the performance of a vehicle. The easiest is by far a programmer or chip, which usually cost $300+ ish for a chip and $500+ for the programmer option. There are lots of different companies that offer this: Hypertech Superchips JET Crane Just to name a few of the most common ones for gas powered trucks/cars. You can also change the exhaust and gears to give it a good sound a little extra HP/TQ and it will improve on pickup from a stop. Good Luck!

A: Straight from GM Service Manual; The ignition lock cylinder and keys do not contain any coded electronic components. The lock cylinder housing contains the coded electronic components. Changing an ignition lock cylinder or adding a key is a purely mechanical process which does not affect the vehicle theft deterrent system. To add a key, simply cut a new key to match the existing one. To change the lock cylinder, simply replace the existing lock cylinder with one of the same type. If the key doesn't turn than it was probably cut wrong.

I would like to get some new rims and tires for my 2x4 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab 2007. I do not plan on getting a lift but was wondering what is the biggest rim and tire size i could purchase without compromising gas mileage and or factory warranty. I dont do any heavy off roading but love to camp w/ the family and dirt road conditions can get pretty muddy and or bumpy. I just want give my truck a little more beef!

A: i can fit 33s on my gmc sierra 1500 but they just squeez in so i would say maybe 31s at the max with a low offset rim size doesnt matter

A: yes, and it looks much better. I think they bolt on in the wheel well, shouldn't be any glue. Will be the same color paint underneath

My uncle has to replace his MAF sensor on his 2006 Chevy Colorado. Is there any easy step-by-step instructions on how to get to it and replace it?

A: I am assuming that it is out of warranty. Has he tried to clean it with electronic component spray cleaner, (do not touch the delicate fine wire). It may be cleanable... The MAF is expensive if you have to replace it.. It should just be in the air intake tube and a easy .. unplug, remove, and replace... You might also save $$$ if you got one from a salvage yard...
