We have a 2004 Chevy Aveo that my husband purchased last February 2005 and can no longer afford to pay the loan. We are behind 680.00 or two months. According to Wells Fargo it will be repossed in 35 days if we cant come up with the money. If we turn it in we still have to pay the same amount every month and it will apper on his credit report. Wells Fargo wont negoitate a smaller amont to pay even though we wouldnt have possession of the car. We havent decided to do anything yet. Please help.

I plugged the ipod in, turned it to aux, it was on and playing, and nothing happened. The cable I have is a 1.8m, but it won't actually play music.

I need to get winter tires for my Chevy Aveo 5 and can't seem to find the right size which is 185/55 R15. I was able to find 195/50 R15 and was told they should work. Does anyone know if that will work or if it might cause any problems?

Q: How do you change oil filter on a 2008 Chevy Aveo?
Today I was able to drain oil from my Chevy Aveo. But now I am trouble trying to remove oil filter. A regular oil filter wrench does not work Also how do I put on paper type oil filter?
A: I own a chevy aveo and I usually use a cresant wrench to remove the oil filter cover. The cover is made from hard plastic so be careful and take your time. Once you have the cover off, you will see a paper style oil filter. You can easily remove this and gasket by hand. Next slide on gasket and new oil filter. Replace and tighten cover. Do not forget to tighten oil drain plug using a TORX T45 socket fitting. Refill with filter is 4.75 quarts of oil.

I have a Black 2007 Chevy Aveo, and I'm looking to upgrade on some parts; such as 17"-20" rims, window tinting, and a better sound system. Where are some sites that I can check out more "affordable" upgrades?
A: I don't think you'd be able to stuff more than 17" rims on an Aveo without major suspension changes. There are 50 or so selections for new rims on TIRERACK.com.
Keep in mind though, that most people buy aveo's for their fuel economy... stuffing huge rims on one of these can seriously affect your MPG performance.
2007 Aveo's are a little unpopular when it comes to aftermarket upgrades. There are some factory upgrades available... simply search "aveo accessories" on the open web.

I have one and the 5-speed is great on gas mileage, but I'm in 5th gear at 35 mph.
This makes it great for city driving.
Highway speeds are not as economical, but it does accelerate well because the engine is already at 3500RPM
It handles okay because of the light weight.
The seats are a little firm, but it's not supposed to be a Mercedes.

The rear wheels on our 2004 chevy aveo locked up. It is front wheel drive. I wasn't around when this happened, but my son said while the car was locked he used the key to open the trunk. When he did that he said the car security thing chirped louder than usual. Could the wheels be locked up due to a security feature or is it some other mechanical problem?
A: Never heard of a security feature like that. The normal cause of rear wheel lockup is the parking brake not releasing. If it has been wet or snowy in your area and the temperature was below freezing it is likely water got into the parking brake cable and froze in there. The remedy is to heat the cable with a torch or hot air blower (even a hair dryer will do it). Parking brakes are not reliable in the winter - in any vehicle - because of that problem.
