Q: Mitsubishi eclipse or chevrolet cobalt ss?
I'm debating on getting a car. I like the mitsubishi eclipse and the chevrolet cobalt ss. which one should i get?

A: Those cars r both good. I had the eclipse. I loved itt. I hooked it up to. I put a turbo kit in mine and everything. i love everythin bout the eclipse. Mine was a 92 Gs my friend has the Cobalt ss. He said he likes it. I say go with the cobalt Ss. It will last longer then the Eclipse. More space also. Good Luck

Q: are the chevrolet cobalt ss and chevrolet cobalt ss supercharged the same thing?
how do the performance differ and the price range and are the interior the same?

A: no before 08 the 1 ss was a 2.0 supercharged now the 09 ss is turbo charged with Direct injection and there is another ss with just a 2.4l engine rather then the 2.2l, I think they just over used the ss badge on the cobalt.

Q: How much does a Chevrolet Cobalt SS supercharged cost after weeling and dealing with dealer?

A: About twice as much as what it's worth, 22k. Bring it back in a year to trade, they MAY give you 11k for it. This isn't typical depreciation either, it's atrocious. It's a cheaply made rattlemobile.

Q: what is the GM paint code for a silver chevrolet cobalt ss?
i know its in the trunk but cant find it?? its not grey silver..thanks

A: try looking under the spare tire cover it should start with a WA or a UA. also you may want to look in the glove box or center console, it also maybe on the trunk lid underside [ big white sticker]

Q: Subaru impreza wrx or chevrolet cobalt ss?
I'm an 18 year old boy, buying a car for college. I'm going to school in pennsylvania and am trying to decide between a subaru impreza wrx TR and a Chevy Cobalt SS. In the looks department I think the chevy wins hands down inside and out and has the optional leather which the subaru doesn't, but the AWD of a Subaru in Pennsylvania's snow and backroads would definatly come in handy. Also the horsepower of the subaru is much higher, and it has 4 doors (even though having 4 doors is only a minor thing to me). Ugh can't decide help me out.

A: A) Any 4x4 is better in low traction conditions than a front or rear drive. B) The Chevy is actually a better car than the Subaru. C) If you buy the Subaru, be SURE to buy the extended warranty because you won't be able to afford the repair parts or labor charges when it breaks after warranty.

Q: What is the most horsepower I can make from a 2.4L I-4 cylinder engine from a Chevrolet Cobalt SS coupe?
It has 173 hp and 163 lbs. torque stock.

A: Well, Chevrolet got over 1200hp from the Ecotec I-4 they built for a Cobalt so even that's possible! Realistically, I'd say a little over 200 hp.

Q: which would win in a race a honda prelude sh or a chevrolet cobalt ss super charged?

A: according to the times the cobalt is faster but on the track I watch all the Ludes at least finish the race while the cobalt throws a rod or drops its transmission. I watched an 2007 Cobalt SS throw a rod in 1st gear bone stock 15k miles on it oil and chunks of metal all over the track. Seen many lose a CV shaft on launch.

Q: Is chevrolet cobalt SS a good, reliable car?
I really like how it looks inside especially the ones with matching seats like a yellow car and black and yellow seats. How do they drive overall, like comfort, handling, does it shift smoothly? It has a lot of power but how does it drive compared to the power is it strong or weak? Thanks for your help.

A: Overall, they're a pretty reliable car. They have a pretty good factory suspension setup. It's a good balance of comfort vs. handling. If you prefer better handling (at the cost of some of the comfort), you can upgrade the suspension pretty easily in the Cobalt. Transmissions in the Cobalt are smooth and reliable at stock levels. It may need a clutch if you plan on increasing power output significantly. Power delivery depends on the type of SS. If it's a supercharged SS, it is slower than the newer turbocharged SS, but not "slow" by any means. The turbocharged SS is quite powerful from the factory, and is very easily upgraded to produce more power. Other posts about the unreliability and supercharger overheating are misleading. Overall, the Cobalt is quite reliable. The supercharger will NOT overheat unless you're running a smaller pulley (which is probably what the poster did). If you want more details on reliability and power, check out CobaltSS.net. The members there can give you first hand accounts of what it's like to own and drive a Cobalt SS.

Q: Would I have any problem putting an 08-10 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Injen SP Cold Air Intake System on an Ls instead?
The year matches, I'm just not sure how much the SS vs Ls matters.

A: The SS is turbocharged, i believe, and the LS is not. Therefore, the intakes are going to be completely different, the SS will be intercooled and the LS won't be...it would most likely be a pain to get it to work.

Q: 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS/TC....?
Does anybody know what size of Turbo is in the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS/TC coupe? I cant find it anywhere and I am very smart with Chevrolet but its not listed anywhere that I know of... and its not very visual where its currently located...

A: Have the parts person check the catalog instead of the computer.

Q: Which one is faster, chevrolet cobalt ss (non supercharged) or honda civic si?
Hi, i race witha a friend a chevrolet cobalt ss (non supercharged) vs a honda civic si like from 0 to 80 miles and i win driving the cobalt, then my friend draged the cobalt and me the civic and cobalt steel the winner. i guess its cause the low torque civic has. but in some magazines ive red they say that civic si's 0-60mph is 6.7 and cobalt ss (nsc) is 7.0 i think and i probed cobalt's faster. not much of a diference but cobalt's nose was always ahead of civics. so is somethingo rong with my friends civic? or cobalt its just faster. both are new and stock thanks

A: yer both racing with cars under 200hp... your driving family cars, not race cars...

Q: Will a 2006 chevrolet cobalt ss body kit fit on a 2006 cobalt ls? And where can i find it?
I have a 2006 chevrolet cobalt LS model, Im not too big on the performance aspect of cars as i am the exterior. So, I was wondering if the front and rear bumpers from a Cobalt SS would fit on my LS. Also, where would I get it and how much would they cost? Any answer will be greatly appreciated, thanks. Also, I just want the front and rear bumpers, not the side skirts and spoilers

A: Yes they will, same car really. I would say check E bay, I've seen them there.

Q: 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS for first car?
I am 16 looking at getting a car. There's a 06 Cobalt SS with auto transmission (not supercharged) for $11,800. What do you think? Is this a good car? PROS and CONS please! Thanks!

A: the bad thing bout cobalt is there based off of cavaliers and there junk so best bet is to check everything new or used there knowed to have Original problems

Q: 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS or 2006 Honda Civic Si?
I am looking for a used car and wanting to know which is a better buy. Please HELP!! Thanks.

A: the civic si is definatley a better car but the cobalt ss/sc look way cooler

Q: chevrolet Cobalt SS?
can i get a regualr cobalt ss with an automatic transmission then buy the supercharge accesories for it because the ss supercharge only has manual

A: The Ecotec Motor that is in the reg SS is a 2.4L and the Ecotec in the Supercharged SS is a 2.0L. You could buy the 2.4L because there are a lot of superchargers out there for that motor but its not going to have the beefed up features as the Supercharged SS. Not to mention, you will void your brand new 5yr-100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
