A: NO! 97 2.2 or 2.4 both have a timing chain and gears no timing belt these engines and trans-axles have proven to be very reliable owned 97 4 door had 149,000 miles when we traded in son had a 99 2 door 170,000 when we sold it had to replace air conditioning compressor at 150,000 both had to have alternators replaced in the 125,000 area which was over 6 years on each

A: pretty much everything but really if its that bad the back side of cars hard to repair or replace parts bumper maybe turnk lid tail lights the rest need to be cut off which makes it much harder to replace so might want to think about another car if you need more really if you can remove it they sell it prices will vary thats pretty much ask and find car go look at it see what you might need then ask about it most places its remove your own parts but some do it for you

Where is the OBD-II connector on a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier? Why can't they put it in a place that would be obvious to find. It's not near the fuse panel or in the fuse panel, either under the hood or in the driver side one. I have no idea where they put it and it'd be nice if GM would put it in a place that didn't require super vision or a Professor X's telepathic abilites to find. Thank you.

A: obd II connectors by law all have to be located within a certian distance to the steering wheel I cant remember what it is but it is only a couple feet, usually all GM's locate it right under the drivers side dash usually slightly to the left of the steering wheel and they are usually pretty visible if you just glance under the dash

A: Yeah! About 5 months ago I had an 01 Hyundai and the engine blew, the paid cash for the car in 03 so it was not covered and my money was limited. My mechanic hooked me up with a 92 cavalier that an old lady drove. It was 80k miles, the only bad thing was the paint job. I have put 7k miles on it, and it runs fine, my radio doesn't work the greatest, but I drive about 37 miles a day and I've yet to have a problem.

My wife's 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier front and back driver's side blinkers aren't working. Her driver's side rear blinker went out around a year ago and I replaced it and it worked. The front left has always worked I know there is a recall on the back turn signals for her model car (which hasn't been fixed), but was wondering if it was a fuse or something if it affected both? A: The easiest way to check to see if the problem is in the turn signal switch or in the bulbs is to turn on the 4 way (hazard) flashers and look at each bulb. If the bulb works with the 4 way, then the problem is in the switch. If bulb(s) do not work with the 4 way lights, then replace the bulbs. The hazard lights and turn signals are on separate circuits, because you want to be able to use the hazards without having the ignition on (in case of breakdown) and the turn signals only need to work when the engine is on!

A: More than likely it is located on the transmission. Look for a switch on the outside of the unit with 1 or 2 wires going to it. The shift fork inside the tranny depresses the switch, turning the reverse lights on.

These selected items will remain in operation until a passenger compartment door is opened or until the RAP function timer reaches its shut-off limit. The Audio system on this vehicle is the only device that is controlled by RAP. SERIAL DATA CONTROL OF RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER, RAP The Radio receives a RAP message from the Body Control Module, BCM over the serial data circuits. The BCM module monitors the ignition switch position, battery condition and passenger compartment door status to determine whether RAP should be initiated. The BCM module then sends a message to the Radio telling it that it is in RAP power mode. RAP will end when one of the following conditions are met: The BCM module receives an input from the drivers door jam switch. The BCM module receives a message from its internal timer indicating the end of the RAP period after 10 minutes . The BCM module detects a decrease in battery capacity below a prescribed limit. The transition from OFF to RUN/ON or ACC of the ignition switch. The BCM module then sends a serial data message to the Radio ending the RAP function. Chances are you have a bad door jam switch or a bad body control module.The BCM will have to be programmed at the dealer after replacement.

A: your PCM(power control module) is not programmed to handle the alchol content in E-85. also the newer cars and trucks from GM have yellow gas caps to let the customer be aware that there computer has been updated to handle E85. but 2007and above can be programmed to handle e 85. but to answer the enviroment part, yea its better for the earth but its making the price of corn go up bc its made from corn. the down fall of E85 is that is smell's like throw up. hope i was of some help to you
