Q: Unlock procedure for a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado factory Radio?
Bought it with a locked radio, how do I unlock the radio without going to the dealership? 04 chevrolet silverado, the radio is the one with the rocking style radio preset buttons. I dont' want to have to hook it up to the machine or pay for it to be unlocked. Help! also, the solution where you hold the 3 and 4 buttons, then the am/fm button to get some codes, doesn't work.

A: Must be done by a shop that has access to GM TIS2WEB Service Programming System, and a TECH II scantool or an MDI interface tool. All GM dealers have this, but very few aftermarket shops do. Hey, I dont design them, build them or break them-------I just have to fix them. People---look---this info is straight from GM Service Information. There is no other way. So just deal with the truth----no matter how many "thumbs down" you give, it will not change the fact that if you are not a GM tech, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Q: Has anyone had electrical problems in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado?
I have a 03 silverado 1500 5.3. I have problems starting it. If I jump it and start it every day it will start just fine, but if I leave it for a few days and trying starting it, it wont start so I have to jump it. I have a brand new battery in it. Has anyone else had a problem like this or maybe know what could be wrong?

A: It is really hard to say because they came with so many engine combos. Now you can take your vin# and call a dealership talk to the parts department they can tell you which engine would have came in the truck. Hope this helps you out.

Q: Would a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado z71 show a warning light for something wrong with the transmission?
Sometimes when the transmission is shifting from a low gear (I think 1st to 2nd or maybe 2nd to 3rd) it is not a very smooth motion. I either hear a soft clunk or it kind of delays then a soft pop into the next gear. It isn't real bad, but still noticable. Any ideas on this? Would a light appear for it to be checked? Thanks.

A: Yes it would,ECU monitors engine and tranny.Check your tranny fluid for dirty or burnt oil and level.Take it to dealer or aamco before it quits on you.

Q: Where can I find interior Pillar trim for a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab?
I am needing to replace a piece of trim on the passenger side. It is the piece that runs along the "A" pillar (along the windshield from the dash to headliner) and has the small tweeter speaker mounted in it. It is tan in color.

A: the factory radio can't do this. it wasn't designed for that. some can use rds, to display radio info. but won't work with cd's

A: For the door handles take off the inside door panel and look up where the handle is at and you should see 3 rivets grind them off disconect the armature inside and it will drop off to put the new ones on just put them on the out side hook back up the armature and either nut and bolt them down or rivet them in place. As for the tail gate look on the gate inside the bed and yoy should see 3 or 4 screw heads if not look under handle remove them slide out the latch and disconnect the armature and replace. Good luck

Q: 2004 chevrolet silverado 4x4 transfer case damaged?
the transfer case is damaged and it switches to neutral on its own how can it be fixed? and why does this occur?

A: Is it an electronic shift, or manual shift with shifter on floor? If it is electrical it may be a bad switch causing it to drop in neutral. If it is mechanical it might be a bad transfer case shift fork. Get it checkd out to make sure as transfer cases are expensive to repair.
